Well plenty of us have been going on about smackdown 3 and its downfalls (and strong points). How bout we all discuss what we would like to see in the next game (no doubt there will be another one made). Some of course will be obvious, but some of you might have some things that you'd like to see which haven't been mentioned through the topics :-)
Maybe you have an answer for one of the downfalls that could be worked on. By the way, try going on the THQ site thats on the game box, looks like a forum will be running soon where you can leave messages about this game, so everyone should hopefully get their views accross for feedback for the makers of the Smackdown series. Anyway, heres my ideas and stuff.......

Obviously the story mode needs to be much better. I think a little more work on the backstage part is needed, it would be nice to be able to take different directions without having to lose or chicken out of a match. The story mode of course also needs to be longer and when your defending your title, it would be nice to get the odd special match such as fatal 4 way, or cage match rather than just constant 1 on 1. Also, it'd be nice if other players could enter the story mode too so you can all develop some progress for your characters. Think it would need to be a come and go system though with rankings like the old SD2, it would be annoying if you had to wait for your friends to play in order to carry on. There should also be more freedom in selecting a tag team partner if you wish to be in a tag team. I had 2 created characters I wanted to put together and I had to keep going in and out of story mode till I was able to get them put together.

I think belts should be able to change hands in exhibition matches. If a belt holder is chosen to enter, you should be able to decide if their title is up for grabs. Create a PPV would also be a welcome return !

No 8 man tag ??? One of the best things about the old Survivor series awhile back was the 4 man a side elimination match - this would be such a good match to have added ! SD3 has already showed it can cope with that amount of wrestlers in the ring so I don't see why it can't be put in.

Out of ring costume. In SD3, you will see characters such as Stone Cold or Triple H wearing t-shirts and jeans when they're backstage, it'd be nice if you could do something similar with your created wrestler.

The commentary was dire ! Stringing different bits together just doesn't work, it doesn't sound right. Of course it would take ages if it was done so that comments are personalised for every character, so why not leave names out ? I would much rather have Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler (now that he's coming back) doing the commentary with stuff like "goes for the cover !" and "as god as my witness he is broken in half !!!" when you do something really spectacular. Names aren't needed to make the commentary great. You could even have Ross and Lawler exchanging banter here and there like they do when they've been together. Theres so much that Jim Ross in particular says that we all know, it could make for some great commentary. Maybe you could even have the guest commentators occassionally - think this was supposed to be in SD3 orginally.

Hell in a Cell. It would be great if you could throw an opponent off the top of the cell - especially onto the announce tables below, smashing them in the process. Maybe also the wrestlers could be busted open after being hit enough with a chair or having their face slammed against the cage wall, etc. This could also lead to first blood matches being put into the game.

Create a wrestler. This has been done really well, lots of fun to be had on it. Only thing is, a lot of choices on things like the head choices and stuff make your character look like a complete freak all too quickly. It would be nice to have slight variations on stuff like increasing the size of the forehead without having to go suddenly into choices that make your wrestler look like their skull is a freeze block with a jaw. Maybe a way to do this is to make a choice, then go into a similar thing such as when your choosing your height/length where theres a bar where you can stretch certain parts. If possible, it'd also be nice to have more slots than 12 to create wrestlers. I still have plenty of ideas but no slots left to use. My friends have created wrestlers too, so after all of us making a tag team we can play as and stuff, the slots soon run out.

I have other ideas but these are the main ones that come to me right now. I'll probably put more accross if other people add to this :-)

By the way is anyone else experiencing this with their game ? Anytime in a match its possible for 2 wrestlers to just freeze !!! Ruining a match. Whats weird is that its just the 2 wrestlers that seem to crash, everything else carries on around them. At the same time though, other wrestlers can't hit them or do anything so if its a match such as the royal rumble, you can't win it and have to return to the main screen. You can still press start and do this too. I checked my disk for scratches but there aren't any. Either its a fault in the game, theres dust in my PS2 or maybe i'm just playing it too much constantly and the PS2 is getting hot. Just wondered if anyone else has been going through this.

Smackdown 4 had better be good before i consider buying it, i was very letdown with the story mode for SD3, as well as the graphics, i thought thq were a little lazy with certain areas of the game, such as the crowd, they look poor, the commentary is bad, if they can't make it any good then just remove it maybe?, the biggest disappointment for me was the tables/ladder matches, they have not really be improved very much since SD2, i agree with PSM2, its more a tweaking of sd2 than a sequel, but too its credit, the animations are fairly good, the intros are great as is the creat a wrestler mode, it has good and bad points but what game doesn't?, i was just a little disappointed, but i never bought sd2 so its a fairly big step up from sd1 for me, lets hope thq actually deliver the ultimate wwf package for Sd4.

Smackdown 4? Yes please!

What do you think it'll be called this time? Maybe "dog eat dog" or "late night wrestling".

Something along those lines? Probably not.
