Well plenty of us have been going on about smackdown 3 and its downfalls (and strong points). How bout we all discuss what we would like to see in the next game (no doubt there will be another one made). Some of course will be obvious, but some of you might have some things that you'd like to see which haven't been mentioned through the topics :-)
Maybe you have an answer for one of the downfalls that could be worked on. By the way, try going on the THQ site thats on the game box, looks like a forum will be running soon where you can leave messages about this game, so everyone should hopefully get their views accross for feedback for the makers of the Smackdown series. Anyway, heres my ideas and stuff.......

Obviously the story mode needs to be much better. I think a little more work on the backstage part is needed, it would be nice to be able to take different directions without having to lose or chicken out of a match. The story mode of course also needs to be longer and when your defending your title, it would be nice to get the odd special match such as fatal 4 way, or cage match rather than just constant 1 on 1. Also, it'd be nice if other players could enter the story mode too so you can all develop some progress for your characters. Think it would need to be a come and go system though with rankings like the old SD2, it would be annoying if you had to wait for your friends to play in order to carry on. There should also be more freedom in selecting a tag team partner if you wish to be in a tag team. I had 2 created characters I wanted to put together and I had to keep going in and out of story mode till I was able to get them put together.

I think belts should be able to change hands in exhibition matches. If a belt holder is chosen to enter, you should be able to decide if their title is up for grabs. Create a PPV would also be a welcome return !

No 8 man tag ??? One of the best things about the old Survivor series awhile back was the 4 man a side elimination match - this would be such a good match to have added ! SD3 has already showed it can cope with that amount of wrestlers in the ring so I don't see why it can't be put in.

Out of ring costume. In SD3, you will see characters such as Stone Cold or Triple H wearing t-shirts and jeans when they're backstage, it'd be nice if you could do something similar with your created wrestler.

The commentary was dire ! Stringing different bits together just doesn't work, it doesn't sound right. Of course it would take ages if it was done so that comments are personalised for every character, so why not leave names out ? I would much rather have Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler (now that he's coming back) doing the commentary with stuff like "goes for the cover !" and "as god as my witness he is broken in half !!!" when you do something really spectacular. Names aren't needed to make the commentary great. You could even have Ross and Lawler exchanging banter here and there like they do when they've been together. Theres so much that Jim Ross in particular says that we all know, it could make for some great commentary. Maybe you could even have the guest commentators occassionally - think this was supposed to be in SD3 orginally.

Hell in a Cell. It would be great if you could throw an opponent off the top of the cell - especially onto the announce tables below, smashing them in the process. Maybe also the wrestlers could be busted open after being hit enough with a chair or having their face slammed against the cage wall, etc. This could also lead to first blood matches being put into the game.

Create a wrestler. This has been done really well, lots of fun to be had on it. Only thing is, a lot of choices on things like the head choices and stuff make your character look like a complete freak all too quickly. It would be nice to have slight variations on stuff like increasing the size of the forehead without having to go suddenly into choices that make your wrestler look like their skull is a freeze block with a jaw. Maybe a way to do this is to make a choice, then go into a similar thing such as when your choosing your height/length where theres a bar where you can stretch certain parts. If possible, it'd also be nice to have more slots than 12 to create wrestlers. I still have plenty of ideas but no slots left to use. My friends have created wrestlers too, so after all of us making a tag team we can play as and stuff, the slots soon run out.

I have other ideas but these are the main ones that come to me right now. I'll probably put more accross if other people add to this :-)

Despite things being left out and stuff, I'm actually enjoying this game with my friends. But I do agree in the feeling a bit done over when a company releases a game unfinished and full of bugs. Just shows where a consumers satisfaction comes compared to the almighty bank note. I mean obviously companies are trying to make money, but at the same time you get people that put so much into a game to make it great that you feel your really getting your moneys worth, whereas others will just throw out any old trashy effort to grab your money and when its something as good as the Smackdown series which many of us have come to expect a lot of, it really stings you after the long wait you've been through to get it.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, i got Tajiri up but i don't remember exactly how i got him. Try winning the first match then staying backstage for the second one. After that, I think you have to goto Regals office and hopefully Tajiri should be standing behind him. You will be offered a shot at a belt like the European, refuse this and you will be put against Tajiri - beat the hell outta him and he's yours ;-)

Another little bug i found was when playing my sister in a Hell In A Cell match on top of the cage i did a hip toss to arm breaker her wrestler went thru the cage but i stayed on top wrenching at an invisible arm then i won the match by give up.

It was quite funny at the time but some of these little glitches and bugs are starting to annoy me it looks more and more like they have rushed it although seeing as i didn't have SD2 it's a big improvement on SD so i'm still happy with it but it could be so much better if they delayed it a few months and did more work on it i don't mind delays if there spending the time improving a game.

i had a simular problem on sd2. one of my characters i made every time you did a certain move (some power bomb thing) it froze.it also did it with that character when the oponent was in the corner, and i wish hitting him with my shoulder, it got stuck on that move. so i had to wait for the timer to end, or reset, if it had unlimited time.

on sd1, something happened and where you could see the belts and who is the champ, the hardcore belt disapeared, the name of the belt and the wrestler went to. so this ment no more hardcore champions.

Another bug update people ! I've found out how to avoid it and what seems to cause it. When creating your character and you move onto their abilities, do not raise their roughneck level above 3 and when you goto moves, do not select roughneck. By this I don't mean the big moves section where you choose all your wrestlers slams, holds, etc - I mean the little catagory you choose from just after spending your points on ability levels. Select anything but roughneck and you'll be fine :-)

If anyone has a bugged character, don't rush to delete them ! Just go back to the ability section, make sure your roughneck level is down to 3 and select another style instead of roughneck in moves and even though you'll have to do your wrestlers moves again, at least it won't be a total loss :-)

You "might" not have to lower the roughneck level to 3, it might just be selecting roughneck in moves that causes the bug, its upto you if you want to try that, but as far as I see, your totally safe from the freeze bug when you do what I've said. Hope this saves a few created wrestlers ;-)

I would like 3D comentators. Also the control system could be made better if you turned to face your opponent after they hit you. More wrestlers and better types of matches could be put in.

Well I tried it round my friends today on their PS2 and it still happens - good point on the card though, gonna try that in a minute, see if any corrupted data pops up.
I've looked into it more though and I'll explain more about it....

From what I see it only happens when using a created character and you can spot the bug pretty early. When you start putting in your own moves for your created wrestler, goto the "Ready Moves" and look in "Grapple". If your character has the bug you'll notice that the CPU has put an extra Irish Whip in under the right + circle control for a move which can't be changed. So basically you have 2 Irish Whips instead of just the 1. Once your playing a match, everytime you press the right + circle, sure enough you'll do an irish whip. If you pick your opponent up from the floor to do a move on them with this control however, the nasty part of the bug kicks in and the 2 wrestlers are frozen. The only way to avoid the bug kicking in is to put up with losing the move you had under the right + circle control when you've picked an opponent up from the floor. Other moves can still be done in this situation, just don't use press right + circle unless you punched an opponent to daze them - and that doesn't include the move when you knee them as you pull them up.

I wrote down all the details of my character and her moves and tried to delete her and start from scratch, unfortunatly she still had the bug, I even tried making her under a different slot. 2 characters I've made have this bug, the rest are fine. Remember to always look carefully in the moves section to find the bug early. By the looks of it, its only created characters that can get this bug.

Anyway, gonna try and look at my memory card now ;-) Anyone whos reading this, please add to this if any of your characters have this same problem. One things for sure, once that THQ forum goes live i'm gonna really rip into them with this ! I mean, its one thing to rush a game out and leave stuff out that was going to be in it, but to shove out a game full of bugs is just out of order.

I've had my PS2 on for 12 hours with SD3 and i still couldn't notice any changes/glitches, so it could be your ps2, let me know how it goes when you get your 3rd copy, and if its the same its either a bugged game or your ps2, to check if its your ps2 try it on a mates ps2, maybe you have corrupted data on your memory card which is crashing the game?, try checking the card. sorry i can't help more, i know what its like, i'm onto my 4th and hopefully final ps2 :D
