Let's all agree that we know for a fact that the devil exists and we're all frightened of him.
My question is:

What could possibly oppose God's will?

Really? Can you prove that?

All I can picture in my head is off a playground with kids talking and boasting of something they csn do but never will do it because they can't... anyone else that way...?

Just thinking I shouldn't have really replied but what the hell? (hmm)

I got given out this leaflet by some really really Christian Religious group... it listed things that if you were or did you weren't getting into heaven well let me tell you something, God's going to be bloody lonely if thats the rules hes got for his house.

I do plan on reading the Bible like boyo Goatboy... then I can pick specific examples and back-up my points of challenging it.

From what I've read, only parts, its seems to be full of contradictions.

No, the devil challenged Jesus in those examples, not God.

Also, if Jesus had those powers and didn't use them, then he didn't deserve them!

What's the point in having something if you're not going to use it?

The Devil challenged Jesus in 3 ways during Lent. He told him that if he was God's son, turn those rocks into bread. Jesus refused, saying you should not use God's power just for yourself.

The Devil put Jesus on top of a building and told him to jump off, as God would send angels to save him. Jesus said no, saying you should not test God.

And finally, the Devil showed Jesus a mirage of thousands of people bowing down to him, and a hugh kingdom with all the riches in the world. Devil said he would have all this, if he bowed down and worshipped him. Jesus said no, and that you should only follow God's will, not anyone else's. The Devil then gave up.

So really, Devil did sort of challenge God, and God came out on top. The Devil is very powerful, nearly as powerful as God. I have felt him trying to stop me becoming a Christian, but God's power was bigger, and I am still a Christian.

Ah right, see what you're getting at now.

I'll point out that I'm not religious in any way. Not that it should matter, but I just felt like pointing it out.

But if I remember correctly, the Devil was banished by God... so opposition means nothing to Him, as it can quickly be discarded.

If the Devil had in anyway challenged God and won, then that would be a different matter.

Like chess. If the Devil and God played chess, then God would always win.

It must rock to be God.

Not actually being religious, but if i did believe it, i'd be incluned to think the devil performs quite a useful service, getting all those dirty sinners out of the woodwork and giving them somewhere to go, so that they'd be out of the way of all the 'good' people.

Ah, but my point is:

If you believe in God, then he is the ultimate force, the omnipotent master of creation and the absolute highest of powers.

So there can be nothing to oppose his will, otherwise that means he is not infallible and almighty.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Many thanks!!
