It's the first brilliant news of the game...EVER! (solid proof that Motes wasn't joking about it being finished).
What's more, I can't find any mention of it on the official Japanese website and the official American website doesn't even have any details on the game!

Anyway, Mario Kart games have always been about eight selectable characters, presumably, each character can drive and so that makes a much bigger set of characters for me to try out on release.

Why karts though? why not proper cars, or even better, shopping trolleys with engines

Missing out Wario and Waluigi, who could well be secret characters... and... they've missed Toad! He'll probably be the other secret.
