How many of you guys drive?

What cars have you got? What cars did you start with? How do you find them?

I am just going to learn to drive and had wanted a mini since i was about 8! But i think it may be expensive for my first car. How many of you smashed up your first car?

When I passed my test I drove my parents car - Hyundai Sonata which was rather nippy for it's size as it had an automatic sports gearbox.
Had a rover 216 or something like that, decent enough to drive but plenty of problems with it.

Driving a new mini at the moment, great fun car to drive.
Would love the Focus ST, but they are just too pricey though. :0)

Worth a try, although it would have to be a HUGE staff discount for me to afford it...say a 99% discount :) I had offered to drive it around town for him as it used to have advertising on it...but that idea wasn't gone for, much to my amazement and suprise :p :(

05 reg MG TF 135 is my current car, the other 2 I've had are an X plate Fiesta 1.3 basic model and a 53 reg Corsa SXI.

I've kind of got my realistic dream car for now so i think I'll keep it for a good few years yet.

Yeah my friend has recently bought a Polo it's the 1.6 version for his first proper car and he's really enjoying that at the moment. I also know someone else who has had one for about the same amount of time as you, and they have had no complaints with their Polo either.

Yeah, that's where I'm thinking of going next too. Some pretty good models around for some fairly decent prices and you can't really go wrong with a Golf or Ford as far as I can tell. Tony here at work has bought the Ford ST *drools* which I belive he is selling soon...but think that's WAY out of my price range :'(

I'm still on my first car. Its a P-reg VW Polo 1.0L. Its surprisingly nippy for a small engined car. I've had it since I passed my test when I was 17 (I'm now 21). Once I've finished uni I will probably look at getting a new car. Im thinking a Focus or a Golf would be good. Im hoping my cousin will get a new car and I can buy the old one off him. It's an Audi A4 1.9TDi that is about 5 years old. If he's selling that in a couple of years, I'll definitely buy it.

Yeah always the best way, make sure you're not buying something that will collapse the next day.

My first one E reg was my first car, piece of junk metal but it did me well until some a**e of a recovery chap wrote it off whilst trying to recover me after my alternator died... :/ My P reg was doing really well...until the crash...it was a 1.6 and was pretty fast for what it was, and it was really quite nice to drive, power steering and what not. I had no major problems with it and parts for them are cheap as there are so many around should you have any problems at all. Definitely worth giving one a go if its in good shape and within your price range.

Hmm yeah I miss my escort now :(

This but rounder and nicer colour.

How did you find the escort? Im guessing you liked it if you changed to a P reg one?
