Oh dear.
And the Playstation name can sell.
Because the story is fantastic and extremely well told, and battle system is far better than FFs stupid real time bar crap.
I'll admit I've never completed FF3, I put in about 3 hours and was just bored out of my mind.
> What's all this 'four full game prices' crap?
I heard that it was to be split across 4 games. Does it actually end with number 2 then? Still a rip-off though, even if it wasn't QUITE as bad as I thought...

No. Each FF game is a full story.
Golden Sun is half a story.
the only difference is Golden Sun actually
has a decent storyline that spands both games.
Decent storyline?
WTF?
Argh... the ancient balance of power has been shifted (never seen that one before), we must go to 4 light houses one at a time and save the world from catastrophy and all the this unleashed energy is causing the local people problems that must be sovled (again, 100% original... me sarcastic?).

Well it has all the elements that were so "original" about Golden Sun (only it did them 10 years earlier), only instead of the boring old linear... go to lighthouse 1, lighthouse 2, lighthouse 3, lighthouse 4, fight big evil monster at end, possibly some reflection on character lives...
FF3 was full of twists and turns. You could rarely predict which was the story is going to go next and just as you think you'd nearly got an idea of what was happening, the bigger picture would suddenly open up and all your expectations would fly through the window.
Other than that it had a more complex fighting system, a bigger world, a larger adventure than the combine GS series WITHOUT having to charge you for more than one game...
Just take a moment here - when was the last, truly original GBA Nintendo game? Metroid Fusion? And before that? Er.. Exactly. What if, they're saving these killer apps for the next generation, when they'll really need them? It'd make sense - and to keep their fanbase, they released the 'cool' SP and secured strong third party support.
They've been working on the GBA successor technology for ages now - long before the SP, and now the PSP and it's specifications have been announced, along with N-Gage details, the ball is very much in Nintendo's court. For once, perhaps they'll be a bit aggressive? What if they adapt the next gen Game Boy plans to better their rivals? What if they release stunning launch titles? What if, they play on how the N-Gage and PSP will be amazingly expensive and put the GBA 2 forward at a great price?
I know what I think.

What?
What's all this 'four full game prices' crap?
There are two games, so? that's like me saying you have to buy 12 games for Final Fantasy, the only difference is Golden Sun actually has a decent storyline that spands both games.
FF3 is one of the most boring, unimaginitve RPGs I have ever played, it's an absolute discrace.

Hmm. They don't sound too impressed with it, if only because of the screen.
I figure it'll be between the PSP and N-gage for the 'cool' sales, and probably between the PSP and GBA for quality.
I can see the N-gage losing out, I'm afraid.
Oh, and Alt+0149(numpad)

What are you two on?
The only way Golden Sun is superior to FF3 is the graphics, and that's only because the technology is 10 years more advanced!!
FF3 wins in every other way, from originality, through inventiveness and imagination, all the way to value for money.
Charging 4 full game prices for the complete Golden Sun adventure is the biggest rip-off, especially as the 4 games combined will barely be as big as ONE Final Fantasy game.
Golden Sun has ONE thing going for it - good graphics, and the last game which just had good graphics going for it was Starfox Adventures.
Saying Golden Sun is better than FF3 is like saying that Starfox Adventures is better than Zelda: Orcarina of Time!
Don't worry about it though.
