The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
One new Notable is voted in every three months and here's your chance to vote. BUT DON'T VOTE HERE. See Below.
This thread is to TALK ABOUT THE ELECTION.
One person has one vote. EVERYBODY (including Staff) can vote PROVIDING they were signed up before November 1st 2001. If you just arrived then you'll have to wait for next time - sorry.
Vote as two people and we will exclude you.
Vote more than once and we will exclude both votes.
Don't vote for the Notables.
Don't vote for a Newbie.
Don't vote for a Member of Staff.
You can only vote ONCE for a REGULAR.
What are we voting for:
The person who in your opinion has made the best OVERALL CONTRIBUTION to the forums.
How to vote?
Despite some very good suggestions we will have an open vote in a VOTE THREAD. Commencing NOW and closing at Midnight on November 22nd.
Those interested in being elected should start their campaigns. Good Luck.
Does anybody know what the Northern Ireland Assembly does apart
> from arguing?
Nothing. Sounds like we'd all be welcome there!!!
What about deselection?
These are all issues which the forum should consider, and argue about, like they do in parliament.
Does anybody know what the Northern Ireland Assembly does apart from arguing?
> No.
You've never been a person to hide your opinions, have you Grix? :D
Hoo hoo haa haaa...
Would it not be better to elect a noteable every time we get another hundred regulers, instead of every three months?
I say we vote how we usually do the vote and theres a certain thread where we all say
I vote for.....
Also I think that maybe next time we should have one thread created by a staff member where everyone does their campaigning instead of everyone creating their own Vote for me topics.
Or a swingometer, but I don't know how they work.
So, peoples sign-up dates are also
> stored, all Andy would have to do is make a little code that won't acept votes
> from people who signed up after that date ... I wouldn't think it would be to
> hard to create.
Why not just stick the votes into a Forum discussion as per?
Votes are only usually made by regualars ... or at least people who have been seen around, anyway...
And if the length of membership is in question... you can just click on their names to find out how many days they have been here for?
> tony has spoken! but you should be alowed to vote for newbies as notables. i
> dont know who im going to vote for though.
Yeah, Newbies should be allowed to vote for themselves.
"I vot 4 me"
"Eye Vote four me"
"i me vote me"
Result = 1 vote for each Newbie.
OK, that might sound a big harsh, so here's the real answer.
No self-respecting regular would vote for a Newbie. You see the vote will call for the person who has made the best contribution to the forums.
