And yep, it's a week today.

I wouldn't say I feel nervous, but I'm not that confident. Mainly because of the maneuvers and speed limits. Partly because the test place has lots of nasty 'crossroads' and roundabouts with roads going off at funny angles.

Still, I have about 8 hours before the test, and hopefully I can egt everything sorted out.
I'll be pished if I fail though - there won't be time to get another in before I go to Canada, and I'll have to start all over again, including the theory, when I get back in a year's time.

I watched BBC 2 once.

Sol, got 35 last time I took the theory. 31 the first time, then it expired...

I know I can do it.. I think. The question is 'will I?'
Have you ever played a sport and been 'in the zone' - where you were playing without any real conscious thought to it, and doing really well?
People often drive in that same frame of mind - not really thinking about it, just on autopilot. It's much easier to do when driving because there's no real pressure (which makes you respond by thinking about stuff more, usually happens in sport). I was like that for most of my first test, only because I'd not driven that much, I didn't have the experience and ability to actually drive well without thinking about what I was doing.
And I probably still don't.

But hopefully I'll keep my wits about me this time, and that'll be enough.

I had been worried about my parallel parking, but I spoke to my instructor yesterday, he's got a new car.
So now I'll have to re-learn all the reference points for all my maneuvers, so we'll have to see how well I can do with any of them.

And I need to be sure of the speed limit wherever I am. I have a habit for missing signs :^S

Cooky, if you're on any time and read this I've been meaning to ask you...

What course did you do at Uni + what Uni you go to...?

So, am I right in saying that you take your Practical Test in a week's time, Dr.Duck?

Good luck to you with that.
If you haven't taken it before, you should know that there isn't anything to be fearful of - unless you're seriously out-of-practice.

You should know you're stuff, and if you're instructor told you to book it, that TELLS you you are ready (just keep thinking stuff like that).

You ARE ready!... You CAN do this!...

Just wake-up and nice and early, in good time, before the test, and fill yourself with confidence - it certainly took the nerves away from me. :)

And concentrate and focus on what you're doing for the full 35-to-40-minutes; or you may end-up failing it (like me) for one-or-two "simple" mistakes caused by a little less thought than what was required.

Good luck!

How did you do on your Theory Test (which was probably some time ago!), just out of interest?

Ah, Tiger Woods. Great game.

And now I don't have to make the horrific mistake of buying mario golf (he says, having not played it, based only on the fact that it uses a push-button power bar :^) ).

Got to tidy up my cv for the next bout of job applications now. Ho hum.

And britney pics - a good idea to give up on the sinking mandy ship, but can anyone better them with lucy?

Yes, that's a challenge

:^)

grrr-argh

Don't come online for aaages, and when I do, no-ones here! :'(

sob sob

Aaaanyways.

Was my choice to pick the film to watch at the cinema yesterday. (Bad Boys 2 the night before being Jenn's choice obviously ;) )
So I dragged here to watch Spirited Away! Was a really good film. Classed strangly as a PG-Kids film (going that any kid that watched that film would be confused to s###)! I advise everyone to go and watch it. Specially if you like Anime style films. And if you've seen Princess Mononoke! (by the same bloke ya see) Was one of those strange and wonderful films. Very good imagery, and a top soundtrack! Go watch, go watch... NOW! :D

On another note, have to start taking calls on the phones tomorrow at work! :S Bad luck for anyone that gets me! mwahahahahah! Narr, I shouldn't be too bad. Just gonna be helluva lot slower than if the person ringing was to get through to someone who's been there for ages! Had my classroom training, passed all the tests with top marks. Now I've got 2 week consolidation. (Being in a seperate room with the other training ppl, with a couple walkers so that we can stick our hands up and ask for help if we need it!) Should be fun (hopefully), was getting sick of being in a classroom getting taught stuff. Was like being back at school. Apart from the teacher was easy to distract, and the work was easy. Even got a new top score on Tetris DX during my training! I liked that. Getting paid £5.75 an hour, to beat my Tetris score! hehe

---

Duck, when you off on your travels? Can't be long now.

hehe, and one last thing, specially for Lucy "puke" Lui fan boys out there

Bought Tiger Woods 2003 the other day for £15

Fantastic golf game!!!

Been annoying Jenn with it by playing it all the time.

heh, it was funny yesterday, I was playing that Scottish bloke on one of the later holes and Jenn goes "What's that noise?" Not knowing where it was coming from. I go "What noice?" --"moo, moo" from the computer-- "That noise!", "Oh that's the cows!" Got a funny look, and she said the game was strange. I just told her it makes it all the more realistic, which it does.
Later on she snuggled on the couch with me and was watching me play. Was explaining all the rules to her, not that there are too many. Think she might venture and have a go today! :O

Told her, Mario Party was going down to £20 next week! She's now added that to her XMas list! :) (a chick adding GameCube games to her Xmas list, what more could you want?!?)

:)

Being 'well' under the limit is nearly as bad as being over the limit in some circumstances! You can get pulled over for driving too slow! Mainly cos you could be slowing down the flow of traffic, or the fact that other road users will be expecting everyone to be going at the same speed, so you might end up with some bender up your rearend!

A week on monday. It's getting close now :^)

But I think I should be okay. At least in with a fair chance.
I have my maneuvers sorted out, I think I'm fine with everything else.

Just need to make sure I spot my speed limit signs.
I distinguish between 60 and 70 on big roads.

Sometimes though I lose track of the signs, and I struggle to guess between 30 and 40 in sort of built up areas or 40 and 60 in sort of out of the way bits.

I suppose I'd have a better chance of getting through being well under the limit though than if I went over.
I guess I'll ask my instructor about it...
