I haven't actually played FFVIII. Don't really know why. I bet it's only about a tenner to pick up now too. Hmmmmm.
It's just that I'm right at the end of FF6, FF7, FF9 and FFX. I've never actually completed a Final Fantasy.
Sad but true. FF9's end boss is so annoying (admitedly I've only ever tried it once) but fighting two megamutherfuckers right after one another is time consuming and well hard.
