I was wondering though, how to put them into one big game. And thought, perhaps, 9 could come first, blah blah blah, 500 years later would be 7, and Alexandria has become extremely advanced, forming Midgar as it's now called, (SO many years have passed, people have forgotten the name, and due to earthquakes and other continent movements, the world has shifted again. Finally, comes 8, and remember that big crater near the top, where you couldn't cross, and it formelly had had a city destroyed by the thingmajiger (I can't quite remember the name), could have been the former Midgar, destroyed by it. Lunatic Pandora, perhaps it was called? Or was that the name of the thingy. Anyway, they all, kind of, merge in that way, if you understand what I mean.
For them to meet up they could borrow an idea from the Wild Arms series so that you start off with the FF7 team where you have to do something to find a portal to another world, FF8 team do the same and ditto for the FF9 team. There they team up to face the ultimate evil which could either be a combination of the main villians from each FF or just one big superpower with all the villains strengths. If these ideas have already been suggested then sorry i haven't had chance to read the other topic by FFF yet.

Ahem
Excuse me
Some plot that all the FFs are somehow connected to each other, and you get to break through into the other worlds, meet all the other characters.
Woo-hoo.
Wait a minute - this sounds a little like my Final Fantasy Ultima topic, which i don't think you read. Go take a look - it's probably a good few pages back by now.
This is also along the lines of a game I want to design (I'm gonna by a games designer, no sweat) is a beat-em-up with all the FF characters from 7-10, and the bosses and a chocobo. It'll be played in the locations from all the FFs.
And there's be a limit-break type thing that, when you get hit a load of times, you can do which'll be the actual ones form the games that'll take a chuck of energy off.
The energy bars themselves will be pretty long, so you get a much longer fight.
And there's loads of mulit-player games. Like Regen - where everyone's health goes up all the time, so you have to beat them quickly. And the same thing with posion.
Plus a slow / haste game where you get either faster or slower if you are winning.
Things like that, straight from the games.
I thought it up a few days ago. It could happen.
I know they put Cloud in Enegize. But that was crap. Roll out FF:Battle, by me.
FF7 ends with Red XIII and his kiddies going into a forest-covered Midgar. Which would be an interesting place to start.
FF8 ends quite soon after the last battle, if I remember rightly. Maybe there could be something about some geezar going back in time and resurection Ultimacia.
FF9 ends with everyone back at Alexandria. it would be quite cool - Vivi's got loads of kids and stuff like that.
The main problem would be thinking up new big bad guys. In 7, for example, you killed everything that was bad, so there's nothing left for you to rid the world of. And there's no mention of anything in the original game, so a new story wouldn't so much as carry on as come out of no where, just with the same characters.
I agree with you Ash. Not many people around here liek FF9, but I think it was one of the best - it had a great opening. And it has a really good feel to it - the whole medieval thing works fantastically. There's some brillinat characters - Steiner and Freya and Quina are fantastic.
If there was an FF virgin, FF9's the one I'd recomend to them.
The chocobo section is brilliant, too.
And when Alexandria turns into Alexander. The best. Scene. Ever. It's just soo cool. Rival to Weapon attacking Junon.
