OK.. got meself a spanking new pc and looking to start up my PC games collection.

Where the hell do I begin?

Dont mind the genre - anything except adventure games where you have to build up your mantra or cast spells or any of that crap.

I shall listen, think, then buy.

If you're looking for a decent RPG to play, you could try and track-down the 2 Little Big Adventure (LBA) games, which have been around for quite some time, now.

If you can find them, they're brilliant.

Mafia - Grand Theft Auto in prohibition-era New York
Vietcong - Best FPS of recent months, all bugs ironed out for UK release
Operation Flashpoint - Soldier "sim", horribly realistic but fantastic
Warcraft III - Build up loads of orcs, smash the ass off elves
Jedi Knight II - Good once you get the lightsaber
IL2 - Good flight-combat sim with not too much sim

first of all may i recommend jedi knight 2 : jedi outcast. light-sabre-tastic.

war strategy games don't come much better than westwoods red alert series, or the newer generals. another must (for me anyway)

then you want a decent shooter, may I recommend unreal tournament 2003.

and of course vice city is a compulsory purchase
