Why get the PS2 version over the Xbox one?
Check some reviews for comparisons although I know IGN said it was greatly improved over the PS2 version.

How does the X-Box version of MC2 compare to the PS2 version in terms of graphics?
I have MC2 for the PS2 but the graphics are utterly crud, jaggies all over the place. So I'm considering trading in my PS2 copy for an X-Box copy, but only if it's gonna be worth it, taking into consideration I didn't pay anything for the PS2 version. (GAD)
Halo: Combat Evolved
Jet Set Radio Future
Midnight Club 2
Moto GP: Ultimate Racing Technology 2
Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War
Unreal Championship
These are all excellent, and you should be alright for months with only 2 or 3 of these... and if you're planning on getting Live then Unreal and Wolfenstein are necessities.
Oddworld: Munchs Oddysee
Oddworld: Munchs Friggin' Oddysee
You could pick up a controller or two extra if you've got more money, but seeing as you'll probably be short after buying the console, you might as well take the minimalist approach and go only for the essentials.
Unreal Championship - good shooty fun
Max Payne - excellent game and most shops are selling it for 15 squids so you can hardly say no
Jet Set Radio Future - Excellent game from Sega, more addictive than crack
Project Gotham Racing - Realistic racer that somehow manages to be fun
Buffy - Strangely enjoyable, smashy vampire game
Probably a lot more, just they're the only one's i've got.
