I went swimming last night, and finally managed to do 64 lengths, thinking this would be 1600m as each length is 25m.
I could do this easily at home, yet it's been a struggle here. I thought I was just becoming a fat git, eating too many pizzas and drinking too much beer. I was getting tired by about length 40.
However, after speaking to some people at work, I've just discovered the length of the pool is, in fact, 33.3m.
Yup, 3 lengths to 100m.
So, last night I swam 64 x 33.3m = 2131.2m.
So I'm not a fat like I thought I was. Which is a good thing I suppose.
But still, it peeed me off somewhat....
I apparently need to lose 20kg to be at my "ideal" weight.
Thing is, I don't think they take account of bone structure, which differs wildly from person to person. I really am very big-boned. (Sounds rude again - sorry.)
> Gawd, that last bit sounds rude!
:-) Only when somebody says "the last bit sounds rude"
As for my weight... 12 stone. Not big bones, not even small bones, simply no bones. Just skin. I think that the recommended weight for our height is nearer to you than me though.
> I`m 6 foot 3 also, but won`t say my weight if you don`t want me too :-)!
I don't mind! Like Cartman says, "I'm not fat, I'm big boned!"
> Aren`t you a little short for a Wookiee?
No, that's "Aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper?"
Ah, I see what you mean.
Yes, but I had 3 feet surgically removed so I didn't stand out too much.
I weighed myself last weekend, for the first time in about five years. 17 stone 5 lb.
To put that in context, I'm 6ft 3in tall - I wouldn't call myself fat, as I'm not 'round' (you can see from the holiday photos on my web site), but I am alightly overweight.
Fortunately I'm not vain enough to go on some panic diet - I don't care what I weigh, as long as I don't *look* fat.
Best place I`ve ever been to swim is about 200 meters from here. Bath uni pool is long course (50m) and top quality. At home I only train in a 25m pool, but it ain`t that bad.

I SO hope that's not a proper web adress....
