Just wondering, I know it's not the most popular game here but NGC were running a contest with three grands worth of prizes up for grabs for the top three scores on chapter 1, it closed today and you had to send in video footage. I managed 2.07million, I don't expect to get into the top three but you never know .....

The dreamcast version has no score/password system so no. However, Ikaruga came out in Jap land in January, four months before the UK so they had a good headstart. (Plus the japanese got it on Dreamcast in 2001) Have you seen the official Ikaruga DVD (I don't have it)

http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php (space) ?category=0&products_id=3030&

there are some clips from the dvd on a website called something like insert-coin.com (this URL is wrong, can't remember the right one, sorry)

There's an old thread on these forums where I posted a clip from the official 'Ikaruga Appreciate' DVD of chapter 4.... awe-inspiring. Look for a thread called 'Ikaruga' and then skip to the last page beyond all the pathetic flame war stuff that happened.

Rossi, do you know if that competition accepts scores from the Dreamcast version?

I've only really tried going for top scores, best so far is only about 2.79 million (2.07m on chapter 1 and 700,000ish on chapter 2), the contest is hotting up on www.atari-ikaruga.net, it finishes 31st July and there are lots of Jap players yet to submit any scores. In the original Jap only contest there was 30 points between first and second - close when your talking about scores around 34 million. WIZ, the guy who did the run on the official DVD passed 36 million last week. Look at the gamefaqs.com forum for lots and lots of Ikaruga chat. Glad to see another fan here. Have you got Iridion 2 ? it's a similar game with a 12 digit web ranking system also (www.iridion2.com)

63!! Impressive stuff. I must admit I don't have the dedication to try and go for massive chains like that, I'm still focused on getting through the game on as few lives as possible.

My highest chain is 63, I have been told that all 3 winning scores are over 4 million (just for chapter 1) it is an amazing game, to see someone play it well and score 25million+ just sends a shiver down your spine. If any of you are seriously interested, I will dig out some links to replays posted on the web.

So what's your highest chain? I have the Dreamcast version but the highest chain I managed was 35. Don't remember which chapter.
