"Did anyone here enter the NGC Ikaruga contest ?"

Just wondering, I know it's not the most popular game here but NGC were running a contest with three grands worth of prizes up for grabs for the top three scores on chapter 1, it closed today and you had to send in video footage. I managed 2.07million, I don't expect to get into the top three but you never know .....

I am registered with gamefaqs forums, they are great if you want to chat about certain games. Quite a few Japs frequent them also. What's you best score and UK position on Ikaruga ? Last time I looked I was 51st with 2.7 something million - that same score was 19th when I posted it about 4 weeks ago !

I'm looking to get R Type Final for PS2 soon, that also has online ranking via a password - given any thought to Iridion 2 ?

Cheers for the link Rossi - surprisingly low scores when you scroll down a bit, I thought.

And that Maxdekker guy is cheating, although whether he's cheated at the game or hacked the site I'm not sure.

Are you registered with Gamefaqs? I just registered the other day, although someone already took the Blank tag.

Blank, go to http://www.ikaruga-atari.net/ranking.php and select UK from fifth drop down and hit go - this is the Jap part of the site, for some reason you can't select by country on the English version. Have you seen someone has entered a score of 54 million or something ?? it is a Action Replay or hack job, you can't score over 37 million even without breaking any chains.
Next issue of NGC is out 5th Aug by the way, the regulars on the GAMEFAQS Ikaruga board are the 3 winners, all with scores around 4.1 million (so I believe)

I got it a while ago. Really good but really hard. Chapter 2 is a biatch in places. And I can only get just over a million in challenge (I think).

Anyone know where I can see the UK rankings? There's a way to get region specific ones, but I know not where.

Tribute thats exactly how I feel, I have only reached the end boss of chapter 2 twice on challenge mode (no continues). Chaining first part of chapter 2 is so hard, have you watched any chapter 2 videos off the web ? if not, find some and site back and be amazed !

I didn't read you post properly no. Have you checked out iridion 2 on gba ?(www.iridion2.com), Psyvarier (however it is spelt) has been "coming soon" for the last 4 weeks, I phoned them recently and it should be here next week. Gradius V and R-Type Final should both be good and R-Type will have a online ranking socre/password system according to gamefaqs :)

I don't have any other vertical shooter's on my home consoles, but I'm going to get R-Type Final pretty soon. And Psyvariar is due for a UK release for only £15, so I'll probably pick that up.

But nothing beats Ikaruga for it's innovative gameplay and swish graphics.
