Right, I want this, want this now. But, questions...

1) How much different is it from PES 2 on the PS2?

2) I always have thought the GameCube controller is spazzy, but is the game easy to play using it?

3)Why do I need a memory card 251, and will this thing do?

http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?products_id=2359

4) Is there anyway to get sponsors on the kit, like the PS2 patches you can get?

5) Are there any websites with goal competitions (Like PES Fan) but ones that do GameCube goals?

6) Are there any transer updates you can download?

7) What is the edit mode like? Anything like PES 2's?

Better in every way. Thats all I can really say.

Very easy. I prefer using the Analog stick to the D-PAD and it takes very little getting used to.

> 3)Why do I need a memory card 251, and will this thing do?

The amount of memory it takes up is huge. The option save alone takes up a whole 251 memory card

I read somewhere that it would only work on a PAL cube with an official 251 memory card. I haven't purchased one myself as I don't mind restarting the master league every time I play it.

Yes and on gamefaqs.com someone has kindly gone through and given trhe correct combinations for the proper kits. Takes a LONNNNNNNNG time to do though and you will need lots of patience.

No idea but I do not see why you can't enter the same competitions.

No.

Its all in Japanese so make of that what you will. It didn't take me long to find out what did what and there are quite a few guides on gamefaqs with translations etc to help you.

Oh and if you see the edit mode saves anywhere they are of no use to you. There aren't ANY current ones which will work on a PAL cube. They were done using a Q or JAP Cube and the data will format your card as soon as you put it in PAL GameCube.

I always use the analogue stick on the PS2, so it shoudl be ok, it was just functions like player select, skill moves, etc that I was worried about.

I heared the 251 was for putting proper names onto. :S

What, you can actually get sponsors onto kits?!?!

You need to upload the save files you see, so that's why i wanted one of those other things.

Do you think this is because you need a 251?

Thankyou. :)

Bah, not enough buttons, the ones there are are in stupid places, also not all of them are analogue, booo, and i prefer the sticks where they are on the Dual Shock. I do like the trigger things, and the controller is comfy. :)

Comparing the PS2 version which I played through my ordinary speakers to 4 channel surround isn't going to be of much help. 4 channel surround isn't anythig special as its the same sounds out of all 4 speakers. However with the Sub the chants and sounds are brought through stronger. This is from the setup I have though so I can't really compare with TV speakers.

The 251 is because the save files are so big. The master league takes up 121 files and all together it just fits onto a 251. The data saves from the editing are huge and with everything combined it wouldn't fit onto anything smaller.

Yes the sponsors can be put onto the kits and if you search gamefaqs.com or google you will find someone who has kindly done all the major teams kits properly even with their sponsors. The editing mode on Final Evolution is HUGE and providing you get used to the JAP text you will have hours of fun customising teams.

The reason why you can't use the current save files is because they were ALL done using JAP and Q Cubes. a PAL card will work on those systems but if you save onto a PAL card from a JAP or Q Cube it will just format as soon as you put it into your PAL Cube. I have been searching for a while along with a guy from central Tokyo for a PAL edited version but at the moment they don't exist.

I plan on doing one very soon as I don't have a lot on at the moment.

Well, thanks alot for the information. :) If you like I could help you, but can you merge edit data together (Eg, you make a decent kit for one team, I make one for another, can you then put the two kits together in one save file?). Secondly, do you think that memory card will work on a PAL PS2 (The one that you can upload data to a computer, if so, that means it is multi region, so do you think that it will work with the save files?). Lastly, when you edit players names, can you use proper characters, such as A-Z, as opposed to Jap stuff. Thnaks :)

All English characters are present along with quie a few other languages so you can customise it in anyway you like.

I aren't sure about the save file with all the data. All the current ones have been done using a JAP or Q Cube and the data just formats in a PAL Cube. You could try it but as far as I am aware ther isn't one available yet that is suibtable for a PAL Cube.
