Timesplitters 2

I don't know why, I finished Zelda and decided to return to my older titles rather than lunge into any new ones (Pokemon soon yay). I should really play the still far from complete Metroid but that bores me so I had a laugh a minute blast on the frankly excellent and addictive Timesplitters 2, had some mates over to play it too. This is turning out just like Perfect Dark on how much I play it.

So go on what have you been playing? and why?

Over the past few days I have mainly been playing...

Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap

Gained via a GAD win (thank you, SR), itis currently absolute genius. Better than A Link to the Past GBA (as, quite simply, it didn't feel right on the system), it is so perfectly portable. Playing it on my DS works quite well (better than my attempts to play Mario Kart on it, anyway), and is a must have for anyone who's ever felt a connection with Link (see what I did there?).

Tony Hawk's Underground

I'm a big fan of the Tony Hawk series, but, before Saturday, I had not bothered to pick up either of the Underground titles. I saw it pre-owned for £11 and decided it was an offer I quite simply could not pass up on. Not quite up to the heady heights of THPS1, it's offering a sense of enjoyment on par with the brilliant THPS4.

However, I am having one problem with it all - the difficulty level. Being the sick ass homeboy that I am, I decided that I would choose the hardest difficulty level to start the game on. You know, I've completed every other Hawk game (not all goals, but you know what I'm saying), so I thought I'd be able to handle the challenge. Now I'm up to about chapter 8 of 27 and I'm regretting it.

It's not because it's a challenge - I enjoy the whole carrot-on-a-strng kind of thing, where you know you've got the ability but you simply can't do it. The fact is on 'sick' difficulty, the goals range from quite easy to impossibly hard. There's one I'm stuck on at the moment where you've got to jump against a wall, then manual down a hill, around a corner and again for another 200 yards. I can barely got down to the bottom of the hill, most of the time. If I'm this fecked on chapter eight, I worry about Chapter 27.

I'm not giving n though - the game has a Leeds badge on the New York level graffiti'd to the wall, and any game with my clubs badge in deserves time and effort.

Except Fifa.

Puyo Pop Fever

Managed to pick up for a fiver for my XBOX, and, I have to say, it is quite a bargain. Has all the elements of a briliant puzzle game, sharing features of Bust-a-move (that Bubble Bobble thing from the PS1) and even, in small part, from Tetris. The game is reliant on combos (I'm not going to explain teh system as it's a biatch to explain but very easy to pick up) which means that, for the simple player, it's not too rewarding. For anyone who is willing to look deeper and try to 'read' the game, it can be amazing. If you can find it on the cheap, it is definately worth it.

Best part of the game so far is one of the opponents - a camp fellow (presumably gay) who has catchphrases like 'How rude!' and 'Call the fashion police'. When you're not expecting it, it can be quite funny.

Then you don't know anything about Revitalise? It's like the ultimate healing spell as it can cover the ENTIRE fighting arena and recovers all your health.

Why do people find Sheena a good person to have in your fighting party?

She is rubbish! She dies all the time due to her crappy card attack thing and you can never use the summon spells that she gets (why is that?)

Genis is the way forward people, he has the best magic attacks.

It's a good attempt at doing something original with an FPS game. If the multiplayer was better it would be more respected.

Second play through I have Raines "Cure" spell which restores a party members full health I forgot what type it is but I use it along with "Speed cast" which helps alot since she is weak and is my only source of magic healing in my main party.
Nurse is pretty good but I had to give this type a try as I had Nurse in my first play through.

I thought it was pretty good, no-one else seemed to think so though.
I traded it in though.

I used Colette a lot up until fighting Gnome, I'd say, instead of Raine, but then I desperately needed Raines healing.

I've started playing again, I've not been to Izoold yet but going around Asgard etc.
