I know what I'm like.
I know the opinion of most people here about me.
I know I go on and on about politics, injustices, the stupidity of mankind etc etc.

I get a few responses, but usually it's "stop moaning".
I put a post about Asset Forfeiture today and had 1 response.
I stick on about "WWF is Gay" and BOOM! Replies aplenty.

Something is wrong here.
I know this is a forum mainly about computing, but you'd think that more than 4-5 people would care about things that matter.
I enjoy video-games, but at the end of the day, they don't matter.
So I continue to post about illegal aid to 3rd world countries, dubious moral business ethics, the descent of mankind into a morass of stupidity etc and get labelled "A whinger" "like my grandad" and other amusing names.

Is it me?
Why does nobody else seem to be concerned or interested about life-changing events?
It's not because most people here are kids, I was like I am now when I was 12.
I dont get it.

Why do I continue to try and highlight things I find wrong with this planet, only to find zero responses, but a dumb topic designed to amuse and/or infuriate people gets responses faster than I can refresh my screen?

Why do I continually bang on and on and on about politics etc?
"Why can't you just shut-up" is the usual response.
Fair enough, each to their own.
I just find it incredibly frustrating that Gordon Brown is debating whether to allow police the power to monitor your bank accounts, but the main topic of conversation seems to be "Spammers should be banned".

*bangs head on desk over and over and over*

Sometimes someone will read something I've put and maybe, hopefully, sparked something of within them.
But mainly, I get the feeling that I stand there on my soapbox whilst people cross the street to avoid me.

Ah well, I'll die screaming but I know, in my heart, that I did what I could to make a difference.
I'm off to talk about movies now.

I didn't think you could get banned from RE for your beliefs - isn't the whole point of the subject to express your views?

I mean, they can't just teach you Christian beliefs. They have to be completely unbiased in thier teaching.

That may just be in my school though.

I just want to make sure you guys know I was being more "Why the hell does everything wind me up so much? Why do I take in every single little bit of info out there and not just ignore it?" rather than "Why dont you people listen?"

I know what I can be like, I was round the girlfriend's place today watching the news, and the labour conference came on and Blunkett was talking about Asset Forfeiture and...BAM...I went off on one for 20 mins about it, I could see my lady just nodding and counting things in her head.

Sorry, I know I go on and on and on about things like government and foreign policies...I'm not some old man that moans about everything..honest!

And I know I argue a lot with people here, but it's never in a full-on insult mode, just gets heated sometimes.
Really all I want to say is, I know I stand on my soap-box and "blah blah government blah blah injustice" but that's just how I am.

Wish I could turn meh head off sometimes and just think "Ah well, let's watch The Simpsons".
That's why after a lengthy rant about something deep and meaningful, I usually go post some crap about music to lighten my head.

It ain't all serious, just sounds like it from me.

Also, a friend of mine once got in big trouble for blasphemy. In our french test we had to write about a famous person - and my friend chose God.

It went something like this (excuse my abyssmal french - I only got a C at GCSE, and that was several years ago)....

Il s'appelle God.
Il habite a heaven
Il a un frere et deux soeurs.
Ils s'appelles Bob, Claire, et Jane.
God avez les yeux brun.

....and so on, inluding such choice phrases as:

"God likes to wear nike shoes"
"God doesn't like broccoli"
"God is unemployed"
"God can work his own video recorder"

He got himself into big trouble. Had to see the headmaster, amongst other things.

Funniest part was when our french teacher tried to tell him off about it, but couldn't stop himself laughing.

Nah. The Universe is finite. Space is shaped by mass. Finite mass in the universe, therefore finite space, so the universe is not infinite.

I did have a few questions regarding heaven however...

If someone's wife dies, for example, and her husbands kills himself with grief, won't he go to hell for suicide, and never be reunited with his wife in heaven?

In which case, isn't she going to be a bit upset? In heaven?

Alternatively, he doesn't kill himself, but instead remarries a few years later. Now he and his new wife are killed in a car accident.

Which wife is he reunited with in heaven? Isn't it a bit unfair on the other one?

Hit the nail on the head for me there, venom

Your banning from RE was fully, Goatboy. LOL!

I got about 8 detentions in RE for arguing that if the universe is infinate, there has to be more than one god, as one thing cannot be infinate by definition.

I got loads of sh-- for that one.....

I think I speak for everyone when I say that we do appreciate the topics you write Goatboy, and the issues you raise, but often you're so much better informed than the majority of us that we don't often feel there is much we can add by replying.

That's why I don't reply all the time, anyway.

I did raise quite a few points in the religious topic, but that was only because I had my own views. By the way, I didn't read your post about the 3 Kings Goatboy because I knew I'd end up arguing with it. :D

Anyway, like Slaveunit, some are a little over my head. Some aren't, however. I don't reply much because I sometimes get the feeling that at 14 years old I perhaps don't know the full story, or am too young to comment on such matters.

I do watch Question Time. Why? Because it's funny when they all argue.

Oh yeah, and because I am interested in what politics is about. I like to see the different views from different parties, and I especially like to hear the views from the non-political guests (usually journalists, but once they did have Benjamin Zephania-the poet.) I then decide what my view is after hearing the arguments.

Part of it is that I don't get a say in what the country does. I can't actually vote for who does say what my country does until I'm 18, and even if I did post my political views on here, they wouldn't do anything- practically, anyway.

But it is not all politics. As I said, my age has stopped me from replying occasionally, and has made a lot of my replies unconfident. I guess I don't take all that much interest in the nature-side of the world...apart from Cancer. That is something we desperately need to find a decent cure for, and now.

Lol, I've babbled a bit here. Didn't know I was going to wrote this much. Obviously I do have some opinions, then. :D

Yes all I'm interested in is games...

Well not really I don't even play the damn things that often.

Believe it or not I actually have a bit of respect for you and read your posts and take it in, as I am at a learning time of my life and don't necessary feel comfortable giving my views unless to mates or family.

As for caring about the world and politics or whatever... I am member of Amnesty International, I don't buy brand/logo things, I read the Herlad and not the the Daily Moron. I even bloody buy the bloody Big Issue sometimes.

(sarcastic mode on)

So yeah screw the world wheres me Playstation 2?
