Stop getting so stressed and writing such long replies. They're boring and also they're about a subject that really doesn't matter that much.
May I suggest some fresh air and maybe a girlfriend? Might relieve you of some of that pent up aggression and frustration.
Developers are dropping the system.
Retailers are dropping the sysytem.
Price cuts given to major retailers in the past have led to many independents dropping or cutting support for the system.
Iawata is becoming the spiritual brother to Comical Ali.
Until this I really thought Nintendo could pull of something akin to a Christmas Miracle, but not now, not ever. Even the new Rogue Sqaudron, what I and no doubt others considered to be an ace for Nintendo, is being eclipsed by KOTOR for Xbox and Galaxies, not helped by the E3 reports that the on foot sections suck like the ones in Clone Wars did.
Final Fantasy Chronicles received mix japanese reviews, which is suspect, normally it's great reviews all round, but not this time.
I think many Nintendo owners probably realised how detached Nintendo had become when one of the highlights of Nintendo's E3 - according to how Nintendo organised its own press conference - wsa the multiplayer 'useless for those without 3 GBA's and 3 friends with them' revamped Pacman.
Sony is starting the PR offensive for GT4, Manhunt, Killer, MGS3, and what were Nintendo doing ? Playing idiotic Pacman ! And now Iawata wants shorter games, because apparently being able to complete Zelda without dying once and Pikmin on the first go is taking too long in his opinion. Then we have the equally insane ignorance of online play, coupled with the moronic persistence with GC-GBA connectivity, and lets not forget persecution of importers who only exist because of the almighty screw ups Nintendo makes regarding localisation and release scheduling.
Enough is enough.
Who cares?
End of the day, I don't see Nintendo just letting the Cube die out. The fact that Namco are working on a Donkey Kong game and Capcom have requested and are working on a major Nintendo franchise for Cube says to me that Bell, you're full of sheet.
It's not a good move by Nintendo to halt production, but it's certainly not all over. Nintendo console owners have been used to Nintendo's retarded ways for years now, it's never a smooth ride when you own a Nintendo console. I'll just look forward to the coming months and ignore all this "Nintendo, yarr all doomed" crap that seems to be infesting the internet.
That's all i've got to say on the matter.
This move can only make Nintendo's situation worse, and shorten the 'Cube's lifespan in terms of new games availability.
Once production stops it takes time to restart, expecially on the scale needed for a console - you have to order components, get staff back and so on. We're heading for the busiest time of year for gaming, and Nintendo obviously see the writing on the wall as far as the future is concerned. Sony and MS are stepping up production and trying to outdo each other, Nintendo are losing their grip on this industry.
Wonder what a Cube goes for on eBay right now...
> Maybe, but it's already at £99, what are they gonna cut it to -
> £50?
It's £129.99 with Zelda/Metroid at the moment. Cutting it to £99 with any game would be a good move.
Everyone knows GCs aren't selling very well. The result = a lot of excess stock clogging up the warehouses.
A break in production is what any compnay would do in this situation.
Plus, it means Ninty can turn their hands to other, more important, things whilest the warehouses clear.
Anyway - now they've stopped rumours that it's going to stay stopped will be flying around. Then everyone's gonna rush out a buy a GC before they're all gone.
No worries.
*Secretly worries*
Retailer confidence in the format will soar !!
This Is The End.
