I want somewhere to stick my thoughts on the Formula 1 season as it progresses so I'm going to do that here. Feel free to join me if you want.

Love or hate the Hungarian track, it can have a levelling effect as the twisty nature can bring some of the slower cars back into play if they get a good setup.

Kubica fastest in practise 1 and Alonso ahead of Kovalainen in practise 2. Not a lot between the cars at the moment so the qualifying has the potential to throw a few surprises.

The 'Spygate' case has been handed to the appeal courts. We'll have to see how that turns out.

Silverstone will be going to get major redevelopment over the next 10 years. The blueprints include:

New grandstands
New pit and paddock facilities
A science park
A Manufacturer test centre
Hotel and conference resources
Some residential development

At least something is being done to save the race.

Not really a surprise to see Speed replaced after the comments in the last week. Vettel in an inferior car will show how good he is and compared to Liuzzi.

Racing under floodlights. Australia are planning to do it too but after a few years I think.

McLaren obviously disassociated with Coughlan when the info came about that he had Ferrari documents, which no doubt helped them get a result in their favour.

The provisional calendar for 2008 is out. Here it is:

16 Mar Australia
23 Mar Malaysia
6 Apr Bahrain
27 Apr Spain
11 May Turkey
25 May Monaco
8 Jun Canada*
22 Jun France
6 Jul Great Britain
20 Jul Germany
3 Aug Hungary
24 Aug Europe**
7 Sep Italy
14 Sep Belgium
28 Sep Singapore**
12 Oct China
19 Oct Japan
2 Nov Brazil

* Provisional
** Subject to circuit approval

Turkey has moved from the late middle of the season to near the start, probably to fill the gap that the San Marino GP left.

I'm not surprised to see Canada have a Provisional label. That track needs MAJOR work.

The European GP is the new Valencia track and Singapore will be the first F1 night race, if everything goes to plan.

Yeah just heard that on the radio. It is a shame that the drivers may have been penalised for the actions of an individual! that said if that individual had used the information and the "team" had benifited from it then the "team" would have to be punished. Its a sad reflection on F1 that pressures are so high that they need to cheat, but its went on for years and years and always will. I am a team leader for Shell and I know that if any of my team let us down we all suffer, so I guess in F1 it will be the same.

Ferrari have the best car at the moment but it is all pretty close at the moment.

Yamamoto has signed for Spyker for the rest of the season. He wasn't very good when he drove for Super Aguri last season but he has been driving in GP2 I think. He'll probably have a lot of sponsorship with him.

McLaren haven't been penalised in the Ferrari document scandal. The council said that McLaren were in breach of the regulation about having another teams confidential data but have no evidence that it has affected the car or the Championship so they can't give them a penalty.

If evidence comes to light, they could be excluded from the Championship though.

Totally agree with you, how ever it will all end in tears when a Ferrari driver wins the drivers chapionship (fingers and legs crossed )
