Remmember the giggles when MS announced the XBOX?

Remmember the huge controller jokes?

Remmember Bill saying "I personally cannot wait to get my hands on an XBOX" and then personally handing over the first one?

Remmember the UK launch conveinietly on a school strike with an Xmas theme?

Remmember the huge ad campaign...banned!

Remmember the trojan horse speculations? About getting a PC in every home?

Remmember the PC speculation's as the word harddrive was announced!

Remmember the great launch line-up,folled by months of crap?

Remmember when we all pretty much pronounced it dead? Even people who had one?

Remmember Christmas with JSRF & SEGA GT

Remmember Halo & Splinter Cell bundles...exclusively

Remmember March 14 - XBOX LIVE

Remmember E3? All of the best games.

So well done MS! I have to admit, I never saw it coming...but now at least one of your products is cool....XBOX! I laughed more than anyone else at the start, but now I look at it as a console....not a buggy PC!

So it needs to be said - allthough inlikely read...well...done...MS!

Is there? :P

I scoffed at the XBox when it was first announced and when it came out, but look at me now. Addicted to XBox Live, playing Halo (a game I initially dismissed as "tedious" and "crap") like it's a required part of my religion, and actually preferring the XBox to the Gamecube; something that I would have shot you for claiming to be so 12 months ago.

With all the money they have they have could probably buy advert time on every channel in the world for a whole day which in the long run would give them back what they spent in that one day...

Remmmmember that MS will only recoup the fundage they pummelled into the Xbox in about a decade's time.

They have cash to burn and they've thrown it at the Xbox like an ecstatic bank robber - it was bound to be a success with a bottomless pit of spondulix.

But hey, well done!

The thing that's amazed everyone is the fact that Microsoft never gave up - They never just sat back and watched the sales figures drop to a depressing level - The pushed and pushed.

It paid off in the long run.

There's only one 'M' in remember.

As far as Xbox Live is concerned, I've been pleasantly suprised. It just needs a REALLY killer title, there's some great games for it but it needs something like Halo 2 or Counter Strike and then I can it really taking off.

As far as single plyer games go though, I've been less than impressed. There's plenty of good games out there, but IMO there's not really been a single killer ap.

Still, the future's looking bright and I can't wait to get my grubby mitts on some of the upcoming releases.

I had plenty of doubts, about the console, the games and Live, but safe to say it's my console of choice now my GC has been sold, and I wouldn't consider another console because there are just so many great games coming this year now, the best mutliformat ports and the best exclusives. And it looks like next year will be no different !

Indeed - There was speculation that it would flop totally.

Look at it now.
