So well done MS! I have to admit, I never saw it coming...but now at least one of your products is cool....XBOX! I laughed more than anyone else at the start, but now I look at it as a console....not a buggy PC!
So it needs to be said - allthough inlikely read...well...done...MS!
Microsoft have entered late, with one objective - to gain the biggest possible share of the industry's annual revenue. But I've been impressed with the Xbox - Microsoft are making it a great console to own, what with Xbox Live and an excellent line-up.
That's that. I just hope that they won't monopolise the market, and that the Xenon won't go the same way as the PS2.
I mean lets look at the PS2's main games - GTA, Tomb Raider, Tekken and Gran Turismo are the ones that really stand out.
XBox has damn good rivals to the last two titles in Dead Or Alive and PGR. The latest Tomb Raider game seems to have fallen flat on its face and I think this big thing with Lara Croft is dying out now. This leaves GTA which undoubtedly sells consoles and I don't think anyone would try to argue that wether they love or hate the series. However, this game is now coming to XBox, so now Sony have really lost their grip on the killer title that helped sell the PS2.
From here the PS2 has the wider selection of games but now the XBox also has a large number of titles. But when you look at the real quality titles that turn heads, its Microsoft that have the more impressive line up which includes titles that the PS2 simply cannot handle such as Half Life 2 and Doom 3. Add to this the exclusives such as Halo 2, Top Spin, Fable, Star Wars: KOTOR, Amped 2 and True Fantasy Live Online and the better quality really starts to shine through.
Plus no matter how hard Sony try to copy and compete with their own online plans, I really don't think it can have a hope of being anywhere near as good as XBox Live. Thats why I always defended the XBox, I knew it was going to be a damn good console and that it would eventually shine through. Now I think its only a matter of time before Microsoft overtake Sony in the console market.

If more PS2 fanboys were like you the world would be a better place :P
But once I got a job I decided to get a GC and an X-Box, and I can't believe how popular the PS2 is, when the X-Box is clearly (in my opinion) the better console and has a great catalogue of games and the line up of future titles is awesome.
So yea, well done to Microsoft and I hope the X-Box can provide Sony with a good challenge soon, because it's certainly capable.
