This is where the X-Box takes over. Microsoft have no worry in launching their first console. Most of the games that will be released on the launch date has been released before on the PC and Playstation and have done well. The Playstation 2 managed to keep the cartoons away but it doesn't quite do it for me.
I have had and N64 since it first came out and through my time with it, i've found it quite hard to find a game with good, serious graphics. I want my game heroes to have names like Terminator and Razor. Not Pikachu and Conker. It's just like childrens TV nowadays too! Do you remember when you were little and you had your favourite cartoons. I remember MASK, Thundercats and He-Man. They all has giant robots, bad guys, fast cars and guns! What do they have nowadays? Furry little fluffballs with silly names. That includes the Teletubbies however cool Dipsie is! Erm...anyway if the Game Cubes is all cartoons and classic labels, I don't want to know about it.
New gaming ideas, less cartoonified games and violent children's TV programs is the idea that i leave you with. So if the Game Cube does turn out like every other Nintendo console, i advise you to "say no to Nintendo". I won't even mention Dreamcast but buy an X-Box!
I'll be sure to note down the source, next time I get one, so you can see it for yourself.
Although having said that, the one from Yu Suzuki (maker of Shenmue kids!) did have a quote (might still be on www.tendobox.com) saying that the Gamecube "impressed him much, much more than the other two machines" (not word for word but same meaning, and the "much" WAS in there)
This means that the Gamecube is either much more powerful - impossible
Or a better system to code for - more likely!

You must read very interesting articles.
GIA: Why did you choose the PlayStation 2 for your first home conversion outside Sega?
YS: The main reason was it's available now. (laughter)
GIA: Have you examined the hardware for the GameCube and Xbox?
YS: Yes, I am gathering information on them. Each one does have specific characteristics that are very different, and can be used in many ways.

But still nothing saying, the GC is easier than anything else.
Anyway, he's thinking PS2 now because it's out here and now and the only machine available for gamers worldwide.
That doesn't mean that he isn't more impressed by the Gamecube though.
Some silly geezer writes a biased Xbox post out of the blue and it sends us two into a console war.
It's no secret that you look for it though :-D

These quotes were taken just after E3 or after...
-Tatsuya (Capcom)
"One of the Capcom directors was also spotted during the exhibition. Mr. Tatsuya commented how easy and powerful the system was.
-Okada (Atlus)
Although Atlus did not have any software displayed at Spaceworld 2001, Atlus R&D director Mr. Okada attended the show to see some of the software other developers were working on. Okada confirms the system is very easy to develop for, and he is currently working on a secret project which can not be announced at this time. The title is hinted to be an RPG, but he could not divulge further details
-Yuji Naka
Famitsu: What are your impressions of GameCube?
Yuji Naka [Sonic Team]: Really easy to program. PSO was completed in about a month. This proves how easy it is to work with
Famitsu: Wow!
IGNcube: What would you say your favorite part of developing for GameCube is?
Naka-san: I think its stability as a system. It's very stable. Anything that's theoretically possible, we can execute it and it works
"if you're a fan of Sonic Team, I recommend that you buy a GameCube."
Strafex is right, Capcom have devoted their highly sucessful Resident Evil series to Nintendo's little box o' tricks - because they were so impressed by it.
Also, in the latest N64 magazine, actually it's now NGC magazine, it says: "After the unveiling of the Gamecube, thousands of developers signed-up for Devi kits and were keen to make games for the Gamecube".
Enough said. The Gamecube will rule, the X-box will suffer and die a very slow, painful death - and the PS2 will come closely behind the Gamecube.
