Any ideas?

Mine are.....

1) - concentrate more on advertising rather than warning and threatening importers
2) - get RARE back!
3) - make a decent looking Zelda game (the cel shading did nothing to get rid of the kiddy image did it)?
4) - stop the endless delays in releasing games.
5) - shoot the current person in charge of advertising!

TR-AOD what a joke, that games horror stories always brings a smile to my face.
What you you prefer, a delayed polished game or a rushed attempt to meet a release date ?

Don't get me wrong, I'm as inpatient as the next man but would still rather wait then get sold crap

In Europe yes, it's fine everywhere else, but, then again, NOE is run by Germans.

No, don't.

You obviously bumped your head. I'll let you away with it.

Prehaps a price drop is on the cards, it is (or is going to be soon) $99 in the States (about £65), if they could put together good Xmas packages of Cube and a top new game (Fzero or Mario Kart for instance) for £89.99 I'm sure sales would pick up no problem.
Plus, the usual gripe about the price of games, how about all games retail at max of £29.99, for some reason getting them under the thirty pound mark makes them seem much cheaper.

I figure they have enough 'adult' games now.

So advertising is all they need to do to educate people.

Resi, Zero, ED, Soon MGS. Plus Metroid, FFCC, F-Zero, 1080.
And loads of the multiformat.

X-box and PS2 could probably put together similar standard 'mature' line-ups, but they certainly couldn't significantly better it.
And I should think Ninty would be more than grateful for a level playing field right now.

Other things:

I'm not convinced we'll see Ninty support online play at this stage. We're beginning to get our attention turned to N5 and there's still no sign of it being supported by Nintendo.

An Xbox live - style service, with the simplicity of set-up offered by the cube, and allowing ***56K*** users to join could potentially do fantastic things for the cube.

Maybe we'll see them venture into the water before N5, but only a bit of lame testing so they have a better idea for when they really go for it.

Price cut:

Without a dvd, the cube looks like a lesser console to Joe Public, even if they don't want or need the dvd capabilities. Hence the slim price difference between the cube and other consoles doesn't seem 'enough', the others look like better value.

With a price drop they could rectify this, and the cube would become a contender for peoples' 'second console'. Provided they'd not spent all their money replacing broken PS2s.

I agree, Wind Waker is superb and I LOOOOOOOVE playing it, but I am a Ninty fan and know what i'm buying. Zelda Wind Waker to your average console game buyer would be passed by as yet another kids game. I have said before, had Shigsy made the new Zelda look more Lord of the Ringy, it would of sold many more copies (along with some decent advertising). When are Nintendo ever gonna wake up to the fact that advertising actually works?

No it isnt but...

If you stopped a random 100 people in the street (imagine Family Fortunes) and asked them to name a video games console, im betting around 75%+ would say Sony Playstation, now theres obvious reasons for this not least in advertising.

If at the same time you showed a picture of Wind waker to the same 100 people im sure again around 75%+ would say something 'hmm nice cartoony kids game'

Now this isnt my opinion obviously but it IS Joe Publics opinion and this is proven by the sales and general popularity of the GC.

To lose that any childish image must first begin with plugging the GC and its more mature games, lets see ALOT more of those RE type video clips in adverts (for other games too), lets see ALOT more billboards splattered with shots from Eternal Darkness, Nintendo have never done a very good job of convincing the public that their consoles are not kiddies toys, they keep shooting themselves in the foot is all and rely on you and me to pass on word of mouth that the NGC is actually a serious gaming console for ALL ages and not something made by Fisher Price.

Theres alot more i could add by thats my rant.

Technically it could be considered Nintendo's fault. With the right advertising it would happen, and Nintendo could have sold a bizzilion GameCubes and that game. As Nintendo didn't.... well the game didn't do as AMAZING as it could have done!

:)
