Here's a piccy of the two controllers next to each other.
Man, that Xbox thing is ugly.
But I'm obviously wrong.

Sony's dual shock was a rip off of ninty's 64 pad. Which copied the idea of analogue from the Saturn 3d pad that came with nights... and was identical to the DC pad... which is so smilar to the xbox and gc pads. hmmmm

Pretty much everyone prefers a particular type of controller becaue it's what they're used to.
I prefer the Sony's pads - I couldn't get on with my cousin's N64 pad, and I didn't like the Dreamcast controller either.
But the fact is, if you like a machine, you'll get used to the controller after a short time. And if you *reall* don't like them, then there'll always be plenty of 3rd-party options.
I thought we were trying to reduce the number of console wars topics, not reduce them to a lower level!
It's the same as the Gamecube pad without the more interesting colours.
Also, the wireless pads have been designed for a true multiplayer machine.
The N64 leads always used to cross over and get tangled up.
Xbox, well it is their first attempt at a console pad, no wait they've had years of expierence with the sidewinders, talk about lack of effort microsoft.
PS2 controller,ok it lacks the force feedback which i'm gagging for but it still remains the most well designed and comftable pad out there :)
One thing that worried me about the Gamecube was all this S-Video and AV-Video stuff, Do we have that here, or are our TV's capable of producing the best qualty graphics without using these fancy cables?
Anyone?
But in my opinon... Gamecube pad is better... I have a hand span of about 23.5 cm (Not that big) so the pad might take a bit of getting used to.
