Who's getting one? Who's worried about it's impact on a market? and who wants it to die on it's ass?

Is this the part where I do an Ali and say 'I was only tying up your time and I don't care'?

Well it's not true. :S

And enough left in so that it can be easily mis-read. If you want people to get what you mean make it clear what part of the quote you are infact commenting on. Perhaps quote the part you are replying to directly in your reply - By this I mean putting it like:

'You said this' - but I think this

It makes it MUCH clearer.

In fact, that bits I left out

Nope I'm afraid leaving in the bit about 'innovation' did make it look as if you were questioning whether Nintendo innovated or not.

No I'm afraid you appear to be struggling to get your point across because you can't use quotes properly in your replies. It not the reader's fault if the writer is unable to convey a simple 'overall message*'

Well at least you didn't resort to calling me a 'fanboy' and drag this down to some kind of retarded-primary school level.

*Looks below*

Oh hang on....

*See? This is what I mean by quoting part of a message you're replying to in your reply to make the part your replying to absolutely clear - try it, it will help you a great deal.

How this one works is: I start a thread about the PSP you drag it on to consoles, you mis-read what I am saying (read below) and have to resort to calling me a fanboy (anyone who's seen me discuss Xbox live with Dringo a few days back will know I hardly suggest that Nintendo can do no wrong).

Wrong:

And we've come to the conclusion that the GB brand is stronger. You can't compare the consoles with the handheld's: they're two different markets. It's all very well saying 'Nintendo's console isn't doing well so the GB is next' but you can't make the facts about the console market fit the handheld market to suit your points - times have changed.

The console and the handheld markets are very different.

The Gameboy IS the PlayStation of the handheld market, just because it's owned by Nintendo doesn't mean Nintendo behave the same way towards it as they do the Gamecube.

It's all very well quoting past events but we are at a different time in gaming now and it's hardly likely that events will go the same way with the PSP and GB as they did in the PlayStation and SNES/64 era.

Heh 'fanboy' good one.

*Looks at 17 GC games next to 30+ Xbox titles*

Well clearly I must be a fanboy. Obvious Nintendo can do no wrong which is why I've bought and Xbox and own more games for it than I do for my cube.

You don't have a clue - calling me a Nintendo fanboy is quite frankly daft as anyone on this forum can clearly see from previous posts.

If I'm such a fanboy of Nintendo how come I keep saying 'way to cut down on imports Nintendo'? I criticise Nintendo a lot, go back a few posts and have a look as you clearly haven't a clue.

Get back to your Speak-and-spell until you figure out how these letter things are arranged into words and sentences as you really seem to be struggling to grasp a very simple overall message.

You're hysterical. Seriously, can you not understand how these things work? You put forward how something might go, in your opinion. I say I think something else, and provide evidence why that may be the case. Your point was that the GBA brand was so well known and Nintendo's position so solidified that they couldn't be challenged. I provided examples of how, in the past, this hasn't been the case. It doesn’t matter that these past examples came from the home consoles as, in terms of how the brands are used, they are very similar.

The holly-than-though guff is just silly. This whole thread really reminds me why coming into these console specific forums is a bad idea – utter a single word about Manufacturer X that isn’t total praise and you get a fanboy response that defies logic as well as reason.

Fair enough. But only one gets seen by 90% of 18-25 year old males on Wednesday nights. Your mother is unlikely to buy a Gameboy. The majority of Gameboys are owned by kids.

The PSP is for the 18-25 year old market, the one with the large disposable income and likely to buy video games.

I never said that the Gameboy had sold less than the PS and PS2. It has, but only 25 million more, and it has been on the market 6 years longer.

1: It is advertised in my recent Kerrang magazine, my mother's recent editon of HEAT and a few weeks back was on the front page of my brothers beano... that's just going on my family's magazines.

2: I saw an advert for Pokemon during prime time slots and I saw a late night Goldeny Sun one the other day.

3: The Gameboy is the biggest selling games console of all time.

4: My Grandad owns a Gameboy.

5: The Gameboy Advance combined with the GBA SP sells more than the PS2 in Europe and Japan and that's not including sales of the GBA player.

6: You're stupid. Nintendo advertise the Gameboy a hell of a lot.

Hmm. Well I'm old and know a fair few old ladies. GB isn't advertised on TV, or in many non gaming magazines. That is preaching to the converted. And it has not now sold that many more units. 150 million versus 125 million, and it does have 6 years age wise on the PS.
