Sticks it's middle finger up at both GTA 3 and Vice City and gladly takes the top spot as far as I'm concerned. It does lack the freedom gifted to you in the GTA games and is slightly short, but by far more entertaining than either of Rockstars efforts.
Great gangster lead story, some really fun missions and the city it's based on is of a much better design than either Vice or Liberty city. It's going cheap now so I suggest you check it out while you can, I've still got my fingers crossed they'll be a Mafia 2 sometime in the near future.
