*mumbles*

Damn these special deals. I have enough money to get that new XBox deal (Halo/MM3 + LIVE, or that one from some shop which is the same, but LIVE is replaced with SC)

Seeing as I don't have BB, the SC deal would be better, but BB is probably coming very soon......and you get more moneys worth with the LIVE deal.

Question - I assume the Live account only starts once you activate it, rather than simply buy it. Stupid question I know, but just making sure...

And then of course theres all the other things to do with money.

Like, er, saving it, like I should be...

This may not be as clever a thing to do as you think - the Live retail pack is purely for starting new subscriptions, not extending them. You could use it, but you'll have to abandon your gamertag and register from new. Extension of subscriptions is by credit card (why do you think that a card is a requirement of membership ? :) ) and possibly by scratchcard.

Cyclone - you do know you get a free two month sub to Xbox Live with the new MS pack don't you ? I'd hunt around the online stores because right now there are some amazingly good deals around if you have a good look around. It's going to be easier to get a good bundle if you compromise and get Live starter pack seperately - not many retailers bundle it in because of the free trial included with the new pack.

Best deals I've seen online from decent retailers recently are

Xbox with MM3 + 2 months Live + Halo, Ghost Recon, extra pad, splinter cell 149.89

Xbox with MM3 + 2 months Live + Halo, Medal Of Honour Fronline, Timesplitters 2 139.99 (+free 24 hours courier)

SR doesn't seem to have anything other than the standard bundle right now, apart from the SC/Brute Force one.

Fraid not. Phoned 'em up to see if I could have an extra 's' added to my tag, the immigrant on the end of the phone said "Sorry sir, only if you buy new Live pack".

Oh and Cyclone, get and Xbox if you like shooting games a lot or intend on getting on Live.

Otherwise I wouldn't bother.
