Getting Xbox Live this Christmas, but first I have to get Broadband - so some advice would be much appreciated from the forum experts. I would primarily like to know which ISP offers the most powerful broadband package, and which are compatable/work best with Xbox Live.

Thanks for any help.

I know you can run two PS2's through a 1MB line, so I should imagine Xbox would be the same.

I'm limited to only a few ISP's because I'm in Jersey.

What I want to know is can you get more than one xbox down a broadband line? I know that technically it's possible but will xbox live actually be happy with it?

If so I'm going to get one fast line, if not then I'm going to get two slower cheaper lines.

Oh yeah and I must remember to actually pick up the 2nd xbox sometime. :D

All ISPs should work with XBox Live, only exception is AOL which may be still a bit iffy.

Also can you get Broadband? Are you in a cabled area, or would you go for ADSL? For ADSL are you close to the exchange to get 1Mb or would 512K be the limit.

Think that some cable compainies offer a XBox Live package, but its nothing really special. Most ISPs are pretty much even prices. Nothing really special is needed to play Live so you can get a modem and hook it up via ICS, or if you dont get a modem with the broadband package then get a Router.

Firstly it depends what kind of broadband you can get. ADSL or Cable. If ADSL, just about any ISP can support console gaming (except AOL at the mo). I am using BT Broadband and playing through ICS, not through a router, and everything plays great.

Can't really advise on cable suppliers i'm afraid, but keep hearing good things about NTL and Blueyonder.

Well to be honest, just about every ISP has users which praise it above all else, whilst others damn it to hell and hope it's customer service people get relocated to Somalia.
