Why Sony will!
Sony’s Playstation 2 is the closest thing on the market to the X-box. Both are seen as a big boys toy (Teenagers) and so if Microsoft appeal to the teenagers and Sony’s main market is teenagers then Sony may lose a few. I know a few Sony fans that are moving to the X-box as they think it looks “cool”.
Look at them Microsoft has based itself around the Playstation who are they more like Sony or Nintendo? Sony fans that want to try something new may think a good choice will be the X-box.
Why Nintendo will!
Japan have already rejected the X-box claiming they think it is too big, the UK and the rest of Europe has had a mix response but it is the USA which is most keen on Microsoft’s new box of tricks. So why will this effect Nintendo?
Well Nintendo sells best in America and if Americans take to Microsoft’s x-box then Nintendo could well suffer.
Why Microsoft will!
Because no one wants their console, the games are not impressive and well no one wants their console! So yeah it might affect Nintendo and Sony but it doesn’t do much and well it’ll be Microsoft who will suffer for making a console no one wants.

Altough most of you die hard Nintendo and Sony fans won't get one, Microsoft has the funds to make sure this product is a huge success. $100 million is going into advertising this baby so expect to see alot of the Xbox close to the launch.
Yes, the Xbox will affect Sony, but not by much. Mainly, it will be people that either don't have a console, or have a PC that will want the Xbox. The PS2's games are as good as, if not better than the Xbox's. Sure, it's gt Halo, but that's just one game. The rest look naff.
Personally, I think Microsoft will not do very well because they're the newcomers. I know Sony were new as well, but there's a difference. When the PlayStation was released, the market was perfect. Everyone was disappointed with the Saturn and the N64 didn't exist yet. Everyone went for the PS, because it was there, it was good and it was cool. The Xbox, however, is entering at a time when the PS2 is in its prime and the ever-popular Nintendo machine is being released. I just wonder how much time people will have for the Xbox.
