Bland tracks, bland music, bland vehicles, bland! bland! bland!
Dont get me wrong, I loved F-Zero on the N64 and was really looking forward to this Cube version but alas it is just not worth £34.99. I'll wait until its at a rock bottom price before I get it.
The hype leading up to it going on sale was exaggerated. Everyone said it was blisteringly fast - I said, "so is XG3", I was proved right. XG3 is even faster when you have the 1000cc bike and the tracks looked way better than F Zero. Sorry everyone, this Ninty baby is a let down!

Road Rash 64
Best two player racer
Mario Kart 64
Best 3/4 player racer
Admittedly I haven't played F-Zero yet but unless you can knock people off motorcycles in it or shoot people with red shells...
I wish they'd hurry up with the next Road Rash game, a next-gen version of it would be incredible. Looks like I might get a cheap copy of Speed Kings to compensate.

Ah, come on... name a racing game better than it. I doubt you'll really find one. :-)

Have you completed the Cups on Master yet? :-D
Nah, that's like, ultimate, so I won't be surprised if you haven't.

I wouldn't go quite that far but it is fantastic, I have completed all story modes on Very Hard and all Cups on Expert and have nothing left to do except Time Trial and beat the staff ghosts, but thats where the enjoyment lays for me, must have spent as much time in Time Trial as the rest of the game.
As for the original "lack of speed" comment, I'm lost for words, any faster and control would be impossible.
There, I said it. Because it is. Better than F-Zero X, better than Mario Kart 64, better than Super Mario Kart, better than any of this Gran Turismo or Project Gotham Racing.
It is the best. Full stop.
It was like should I get Worms? Should I get SSX3? Should I get Hit and Run? Should I get Billy Hatcher?
There was no should I get F Zero... that was already settled there was no question.
For those that don't know I chose Worms and Hit and Run and are both far superior to F Zero.
Although.... I hope to get Billy Hatcher somehow.
I'll wait for 1080 rather than get SSX3.
I mean it's fun but I play it for a bit and then stop.
In fact I've given it two plays and I doubt it'll get another.
Worms and Simpsons have taken my gaming hours away.
A let down? No. I've never really enjoyed the F Zero series. Which begs the question.
Why did I get it?

For you maybe, but it seems the general consensus is it's quite the opposite, and I have to agree, it fooking rocks. Never played any of the previous games but this one really does shine through.
It is a very fast game, and thanks to some excellent tracks, a very challenging one. And with so much to unlock it's going to last me weeks. Another must have for the Cube I say, I would have gladly paid full price for it if I hadn't have won it.
