"EXTRA EXTRA GAMEADAY PRIZE (Sept 2001 Virtual Newbie)"

This is an intentionally tricky competition. You have to create the best virtual newbie



1. Think of a user name and a tagline to go with it.

2. Delete the cookie for your normal sign up if you have selected "remember me". You can sign up your new name either by scrolling down the left side strip to REGISTER WITH US - DISCUSSIONS, or by signing up as a newbie as you make your first "reply" post.

3. Sign up as a new user, giving your proper name and address. You DON'T need to give your real e-mail address, as I think this has to be unique. But if you want an extra e-mail address you can always sign up for one at Freeola.

4. Come here and write a post under your new virtual newbie name. The post must display your virtual newbie's character and personality.

The winner will be the post which displays the most original character. This character may be adopted for the forums, so make him/her likeable and not horrible.

You can enter as many times as you like.

You can make several entries under the same virtual newbie name.

You can try to guess who are the real regulars behind the virtual newbies.

The competition will be judged at the end of September.

I'm staying up wayyyyyy too late tonight! My mummys going to tell me off but I thought I'd check to see whether I've won a game yet but I haven;t so I'm going to go to bed nw. I wish SR would jsut do the thing they should adn give me Gran Turismo 3. I'm so excited I can't waot for my game to rarrive thohuigh the post. Te he. I bet you can't guess who I am!! I'm well good at hiding from peoeple I am!! No ones can ever find out where I'm hiding.. once I had some babybsittees over and I hid upstairs under the duvet sheets... I hid there for 3 hours and no one found me they did! I came downstairs and the girl babysitter hadg iven up and was kissing some boy. It was disgusting! They wee kissing it was all yucky and stuff it was!

This is possibly even more stupid than the clocks compo. I hate these.

I find this all rather complicated. So, erm I don't think I will be entering. Setting up a new account and all that, i can't even get a personality on my account that I have now!

Well I already have but that dosen't matter ;o)

Basic deduction may also lead you to the conclusion that I a the German Gurner as well. Dunno who the hell Gelboy is though! My guess is Fogmaster, his website is called Gelboy

Hello everyone! I'm new here, but I have experience of forums and chat rooms so I (kind of!) know what I'm doing :)

Oh and before I tell you about me I'd just like to say that even though I am a frequent user of chat rooms, I never use Net Speak. Most of the time it's impossible to read and annoying :)

Well... I'm called Roy and I'm from Royston (Irony is such a fickle mistress...) and I'm 11 years old

I own a PS2, an N64 and a Gameboy Advance. I will be getting an X-Box when it comes out though, and I will also be getting a Gamecube. I don't have any bias towards one company, as long as I like the games they produce, I don't care who they are!

My favourite game of all time is Metal Gear Solid on the original PlayStation. But my favourite game I have at the moment is Gran Turismo 3. I can't stop playing it! I went down to my local Special Reserve shop for that Gamer of the Year thingy, but didn't do as well as I'd hoped. Still, I had fun :)

When I grow up I'd like to be a Gamer, but of course that's not possible (there's no such thing!) but I can all ways dream :)

My favourite bands are Matchbox 20 and Train. (There new one is the best song I've heard for ages!) and I support Cambridge United (I was born there)

I've been reading these forums for the past couple of days (I forgot to join up until today!) and I have to say that everyone on here seems to be really friendly! I can't wait until I become a Regular as I'm an egomaniac ;)

Well, I'm here to stay for quite a long time, and longer if possible, so you'll be seeing me around quite a lot.

Gelboy Roy

I know, I'll be a detective for the next few weeks, or however long this comp runs for, and spot the newbies' real identities. Or rather, real "virtual" identities. Aw, I'm confused. Anyway, mt first solution: RBS is the AntyChrist, practically giving it away. Doh!

This comp, despite being really irritating, is the best idea the SR people have had for ages. Just one question though: once it's all over, will Tony and the rest of the SR staff have to delete all these "newbies", or will they stay put, clogging up the system further?
