Big name, big game and big fan following...it's bound to be a game widely discussed!

As we seem to have a thread for most of the big games, I thought we may as well have one for this behemoth of a game - so if you have any ideas, favourite ways to play the game or just want to pass comment on what already appears to be a fantastic and absorbing game - please post here.

If you want to discuss the plot or other aspects of the storyline - remember to use the

tags to hide it from people who want to play the game without ruining it for themselves.

first off...I'm liking the combat system now - no definite turn based combat? Action seems to be constant even though you have to select your moves. Brilliant?

Snow also has the secret "Perfect Defense" mechanic. Changing all 3 party members into SEN and having Snow use Steelguard means that all incoming damage is reduced to 1%. Very handy for the Long Gui's Ultima move.

Yeah i know, Snow is my favourite character, but i might have to sub him out, it just really helps having massive HP with the main character, means your a lot harder to kill lol

Fang will get so overpowered later on in the game you may wish to consider using her.

They do well with the variety of characters but I would say a lot of people (at least over half) agree that Light/Fang/Hope is the best party (mix and all).

Shame 'cos I really wouldn't mind having Snow instead of Fang because of his huge HP, and then Sazh instead of Hope for the same reason. But alas :(

Yea, i guess i will go along with Hope in my team then. Shame because i like Fang.

I need a good SAB aswell, (this might mean i loose Snow to Fang, but Snow's HP is useful)...... what to do. Unless i loose Light to Fang, but then Light has good STR and MAG. The choices i have to make in life lol.

Hope has the best medic use, and as a ravager he is pretty much just below Lightning. He naturally just spits out healing and magic.

He is the best SYN too because of his weapons having Defense Maintenance (II).

Also if you start with Hope in SYN he prioritises HAste and all members have it within 10 seconds.

Haste is very useful, and that is why i was thinking about putting Sazh in as he has it. Hope will be better once he has that!

I think ill take that new weapon off him then and go back towhat he did have! My ideal team would be;

Snow / Light / Fang - but they are all more attack than magic..... reckon that would be ok, or should i stick with Hope?

That reminds me, I got (after upgrading) a 'First Strike' item last night, not used it yet but having Light start with a full ATB gauge can only be a good thing in my mind.

Next item I'm aiming for on here is an 'Auto Haste' one, should give me a nice boost to the start of the battles.

Stagger Lock weapons are not really that bad. They do still build the gauge up, but the person using the weapon can not be the person who "staggers" the enemy. But when you have two other people hitting anyway, that last little chunk is easy as pie.

I don't bother with them anyway, have the Lionheart upgraded on Light, Gae Bolg upgraded on Fang, and Hope has both the Hawkeye upgraded (supreme magic) and the weapon with Defense Maintenance upgraded to tier 2 (as it makes all his buffs last 90% longer.... very useful)

I like a bit of variation with my team, I use Lightning, Fang and Hope. usually start with a full on attack to see whether I can take them down that way, if not I switch to MED/SAB/SYN. Usually after this I can take down the enemy more easily, if not I just repeat the process ;).

Ok cool, i will have to have a re-think of my team.

I just like Snow for massive HP, Light for good physical and magical attack. Hope for strong Magic and good for the healer and RAV side of things.

Hope is not a character i like really but his magic stats seem the best if i remember. Not died lately so must be doing ok lol.
