Also, can we stem the tide of merchandising which is about to engulf us linked to these films???
I know some books that are better than Lord of the
> Rings.
Surely thats not right ;)
I started reading on of the books when I was about 13, and got really bogged down and bored, so I gave up.
May have to go back to it now though...
And you're right about the time thing, loads of the story would have to be cut!
Look at the mess they made with Frank Herbert's "Dune" apparently the original cut for that was over 6 hours long - 3 films!
YH, do you think there'll ever be
> a WFR film?
Nope.
Ages ago I asked that on TG's fourm, and the answers were generally "No, however good the actors are, they could never get it as good as the book."
Also, for WFR alone, it would need at least 3 films, otherwise you'd miss so much out, it wouldn't make much sense.
There's no way WFR could be squidged into a 2hr film.
I'm slightly sad that it won't be made into a film, but I'm also glad, as it means that the story is unique to me. How I percieve events. If it's made into a film, I'm watching some one elses perception.
So basically, no. Which is a good thing.

I do agree that he's better than Tolkien though. Tolkiens writings are just to old, the language etc. Goodkind is right up to date, and his actual writing is fantastic!

Terry

Much better in fact.

I know some books that are better than Lord of the Rings.
Get hold of a book by Terry Goodkind (www.terrygoodkind.com).
They are fantastic!
Just make sure you read them in order!
