That's how long it took me to complete Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Fifty hours. Granted, about 5 or so of those are from the game being left on pause, but I pretty much took my time through the whole thing. And I didn't even bother with half of the side quests, or character specific quests.

Then I remembered you can play it through again on the Dark Side. That's got to be another 25-30 hours at least, surely? Then you have to take into consideration every single side quest, assassination quest, character quest etc. I could feasibly be playing this until the middle of next year.

How big is this goddamn game? Every single line of text is spoken too, this is pretty incredible when you think that there's technically two routes through the game, every character has pages and pages of backstory, dozens of different response, all of which vary depending on whether you're light side or dark side, and indeed whether you're male or female. I'm seriously impressed.

Then there's Xbox Live downloadable content to look forward to, which granted, probably won't be much, but still, it's extra gameplay.

Is this perhaps the bext value for money game of all time?

If I sat through 50 hours of KOTOR, I'd probably start swinging from a noose...by choice.

KotOR is a brilliant game - I enjoyed every minute and finished with a total of 70 hours on the light side; taking my time and doing everything. I like savouring games, you see. Even Starfox Adventures took me 25 hours.

Not a big fan of RPGs myself. Played about 13 hours of FFVII before i started to get a little bored and just gave up.

50 hours is nothing.

Final Fantasy VII first time through took more than 80, doing it again completing all side-quests and killing all the Weapons etc took well over 100.

Also, a friend of mine once completed Baldur's Gate in one sitting. The sitting lasted three straight days - a little over 72 hours without sleep, pausing only to relieve himself and to eat.

However, it's always refreshing to see a game that teks more than a dedicated evening of play to complete.

Most RPGs are like that though, just maybe without the speech.

'Unlimited Saga' is hooooge

And Skies Of Arcadia took me a good 40 hours to just finish the story....
