For christmas my mum is giving me £200 and I was thinking of buying a silver PS2.

Should I or not?

1) Amount? Lets take a look a the PS2's game collection. Games such as Pop Idol are EXCLUSIVELY released on PS2, and there are hundreds of games involving Whinnie the Pooh, Disney etc - KINGDOM HEARTS anyone? If it's called that.......y'know the one I'm talking about. But that is a perfect example - colourful and fun but also deep. Like a GC game. Or rather Nintendo games.

2) Have you even played Luigis Mansion? True it may be colourful, but is actually quite challenging. And so are a lot of games on the GC, as on the PS2, but the fact is there are more patronising pieces of tripe on PS2. By the way, 'tripe' is meat, but not very nice meat. In certain peoples tastes anyway.

3) Dismissing 'babyish' as bad is in fact pathetic, immature and lame in itself. I for one love reading old books I read as a much younger child - and GC games aren't like this. They are in fact far more progressive than any PS2 'baby' game, and yet are not patronising, are actually challenging and suitable for any ages.

1)Im trying to say that people should get a game they wont grow out of, its just like clothes,an 18 year old is gonna turn out to be a very lonely guy if they keep getting babyish games on GC, kapeesh.

2)I think GC are realising that they should get more realistic games so dont think im saying GC is crap, i just think the guy who done this thread should get a ps2.

3)Nintendo are a bit confusing and i think they're a bit confused thereselves cos the GBA SP is the same (if not more) amount as the GC.

Thats exactly the point, the games are so diverse, rich and engrossing that people don't grow out of them. Even when they are obviously aimed a t children (which most AREN'T), games ought to be at least challenging and memorable as a childhood source of fun.
