For christmas my mum is giving me £200 and I was thinking of buying a silver PS2.

Nothing, now that Sony are selling the updated PS2 with a competent DVD player to rival the Xbox's.

Well, let's face it - Manhunt is poor and Ratchet & Clank 2 was a disappointment. If you're bigging up the PS2, those aren't really the titles you want to use. Pro Evolution Soccer 3, Ico, Dark Chronicle, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Rez, Amplitude, Beyond Good & Evil, Suidoken III, Devil May Cry, Jak & Daxter and Deus Ex are all excellent and all console exclusive.
Yep, the PS2 is very worthwhile. People who dismiss it as rubbish - saying it's something for casual gamers who play Enter the Matrix - usually have little to back up their claims. It's still a strong contender against the GameCube and Xbox.

I think he means that it is expensive because you buy the network adapter...oh wait, for Live! you need to buy a strter kit.
Both about the same price aswell.
It's ridiculous how many people think PS 2 online gaming is crap on Live!, the amount of times some guy has tryed arguing with that xbox is better by saying xbox is better over and over is just too much to count.

I think he means that it is expensive because you buy the network adapter...oh wait, for Live! you need to buy a strter kit.

PS2:
Has a few good games, but nothing amazing which is exclusive, apart from Pro Evo 3. Online s expensive, and is not that great. Poor DVD player, although you don't need to fork out £20 for a controller, however remote controllers are good.
XBOX:
Outstanding online, espcially RS3. The good games are very good, although there are few. Powerful console, with potential to go far. Good DVD player, although you have to buy a remote controller, which is a bit of a rip off.
GAMECUBE:
A wide range of fantastic games to suit everyone, hasn't got much to offer in the sporty games' genre. Also, it's is cheap.
In my opinion, don't get a PS2. GC or XBOX will do whatever the PS2 can do or better.

you can never go wrong with a PS2 (Black or Silver) you have good games for you to get and its even a DVD player not many other consols have a DVD player in one. i think that you should get the PS2 you will never regret it.

You should. There are plenty of gems(GTA3,PES3) underated(Getaway,Enter the Matrix) and inflated(Vice,Fifa) and lots of brilliant games on platinum (Resident Evil:CV, PES2)
