Being off ill means I have dragged myself to the keyboad and I'm tapping it out as I double over in pain.

Yep, and Wings Hauser is to be thanked for this.
We writers of this are aware of the potential sleeper-status of Log in The Creek, and we're measuring out the cameos etc so as not to spoil it.
Another 10 weeks to go yet, can't get it all out in the 1st few episodes.

Just introducing the main characters and setting up storylines, all will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Look forward to The A-Team going native, more Feral David Hasselhoff, Airwolf and Blue Thunder fights and a mentally deficient Columbo.

This will rock, and then I'm sending it to my agent to see what he thinks

Tsk Tsk..

You have the making of a cult/comedy classic here. The innuendos have unlimited possibilities given the setting - half dressed men running around in a woods. The potential for Carry On oh er missus style antics are endless.
The dialogue is a godsend
"Has anyone seen Red?"
"Yes he's up Logs creek giving him a hand with his wood" etc, etc.
Casting unlimited possibilities. Exiled Tory politicians known for their fondness of young men and wide open spaces. Tom Cruise, Tom Selleck. Men with muscles and taches being manly.
From a marketing angle its a dream. You could have the cast forming a latter day Village People/Boy Band. Action figures not unlike Ken - I always suspected he was more into getting into Barbies dresses than knickers. Their own range of body grooming products inspired by nature - Leafs relaxing massage oil. Logs exfoliating cream with Bark in it etc.
Scenes of all the main characters happily splashing around in the Creek to celebrate yet another mystery solved etc.
Anyway I appreciate its your baby and if your stuck on the hetro content of it thats your perogative you'd just have a time to try and convince people of the "manly" nature of it all. Call it femenine intuition.

Topless and enjoying the physical labour of goodly Park Ranger life?

Sleeping in a dormitory, all men together in the great outdoors?

Trust a bird to start doubting the manly goodness of this fiercely hetero-show.

Right so now we are getting down to the homoerotic subtext of the matter. Log, Wood, its all taking on a new meaning.

What was I thinking? women in prime time action series? I must have had a hormone burst that upset my rational mind. I'm getting my genres/decades all mixed up.I was definately in the 90's and possibly not thinking purely action genre. The feel good warm mushy feeling that women bring have no place in an action series you are right. But it would bring it up bang up to date. Anyway I'm off I have some embroidery, sketching and swooning to do. I shan't ruin my femeninity and future marketable marriage status by getting mixed up with future action series and computers. I'm feeling feint from typing such a long sentence. Off to find the smelling salts.

Or some lesbian action.

That would be different.

No female characters in Log in The Creek because women are not allowed in the world of prime-time action series.

Women are there to be rescued or lusted after, they aren't allowed significant screen-time or character development.
And the rest will, it's only episode 2.

Men in the woods.
No women allowed.

As an avid reader and fan of the postmodern, retro-chic, iconic-ironic, oh so very clever, here comes another reference to poor 70/70's action movies/TV Log in the creek. I have a few suggestions of my own.
1) Where is the female lead in all of this? We've had Julia Roberts and the compulsory gay best friend and there is also some flaky hippy character hanging around but they have hardly been developed. My suggestion is that you stick totally with the female stereotype. So flaky hippy/latter day Pocahontas woman needs to have a make over. Having spent most of her life rooting round the woods weaving immaculate four bedroomed log cabins complete with native/ethnic chic interior decor etc she looks a bit of a state. Her "femeninity" is subsumed to her love of nature and consequently her hair has brambles in it, feathers for earrings and generally wild woman of Borneo looking.
So anyway Julia Roberts turns up to do a "Save the Planet" plant a tree kind of environmental PR stunt with her Limo purring nicely in the background. She becomes chums with the Pochontas style character and does a pretty woman number on her. She comes back groomed. There is a moment when the immortal line "why Pochantos you scrub up well" is said by the David Hasselhoff character.
However we can't leave it there. Oh no that would be way too simple and only half a cliche. That is for every fat minger of a duck woman there is a beautiful swan wishing to escape.
So now that Pocahontas is beautiful we will have various male characters falling in love with her. She will become increasingly vain and self centred, and turn into a bad tempered nuerotic cow - think Mariah Carey. There then has to be some defining moment/event when Pochantos realises that beauty isn't everything and if she could just get back to the simple earth girl she was everything would be fine again. We could have a nice parallel theme of disturbing the environment going on, so that we learn all about the subtelty of eco systems and you can't disturb one bit without having repurcussions in the other. You also want a clear message that you can't get uppity and change your social standing in the world, so we slap the simple native Pochantos woman back to her standing in life - namely making grits on an open fire, finding the cure for cancer with tree bark and a feather etc.
Theres a big emotional scene at the end with Pocahontos and Julia Roberts acknowledging they are never going to move in each others world but are best friends for eternity - leaving the story open for Julia Roberts to gratuitously reappear when you need a bit of glamour totty on the scene. All is back to normal in the Creek, the critters are chirping, have some dreadful wailing girl with a guitar music wailing - think Tori, Alanis etc and all is well in the world.

This was a little light on Log action, because there needed to be some character exposition for the lesser roles.
We are now aware of the fued between Chains and Red, set-up the Evil Rogue Environment Agency connection and connected Leaf to it.

This is over 12 episodes, we can't give the money-shot in the 2nd one now can we?

And the Gabriel reference was meant to be a mistake, he's Airwolf dude, Chains didn't pick it up and we can look forward to a collosal duel between Airwolf and Blue Thunder, settling once and for all the childhood fight question of "Which was better".

All this and a Feral David Hasslehoff.

We rule, Wings rules and this story rules.
