Anyone seen the first pics of the new Zelda game yet?

No?

Go seek them out, I won't tell you where to look, you can make a game out of it or something.

Okay, have you looked now?

Good.

What did you think?

Looks very, very cartoony indeed, doesn't it?

How much can change in a year hey!

Remember last years Zelda video, featuring Link and Ganondorf fighting. It looked nothing like this at all!

One thought has entered my head, and I'll let you in on it, it's a bit messy, but that's the best you'll get!

Remember SNES Zelda, which featured two worlds, which you could cross between?

Remember Ocarina of Time, in which you could go to two different worlds as adult Link and young Link?

Remember Majora's Mask, in which you could take on different forms by wearing different masks?

Now what if the new Zelda game allows Link to play as an adult, as seen at last years Spaceworld, but also in this cartoon form that is being shown now?

Zelda games always seem to have something major like this, and the vast differnces between the graphical styles would be an extraordinary contrast, and a very odd gameplay experience!

But hey, maybe I'm wrong, maybe this game has taken on the role of an 'interactive cartoon'. I can't wait to see some videos to see what it looks like in-game, as the screenshots released so far aren't fo great quality, and you can't judge too much.

At the moment GAMECUBE Zelda is scheduled for an Xmas 2002 release in Japan, so we might see it in the summer of 2003!

Hopefully it will be worth the wait, and there's plenty of other games to keep us busy until then!

Yeah I suppose, have you seen the X wing Vs Tie Fighter games on the PC, theyve got brilliant online play, but im not sure if it would work on one screen.

Lylat Wars wasn't so bad.
The controls were a bit sluggish, it suffered fogging, the movement was slightly limited and it was all a bit slow.

It was still great fun though and skillful, especially with the Tanks and Pilots on the ground as well.

All these flaws were in a 6 year old game, on 6 year old technology. They could easily be improved on.
Dogfights would be more fun with 15 participants (including bots or online players)

Lylat Wars was great for a first try but wasn't improved on or explored.

I DEMAND that Rogue Squadron becomes a brilliant multiplayer game. They have the technology. They have old ideas to work from.
They have an all powerful system designed for that sort of thing.

If they don't then it's down to laziness...

Talk about multiplayer wouldn't Zelda have a brilliant one if Nintendo put in their last ounce of effort. SSB style fighter or maybe a fencing style two player SIM!

I dont think multiplayer would work really on Rogue Leader, all I could think it could be like is Lylat Wars multiplayer and that was really terrible.

I've heard that Rogue Leader lacks multiplayer.

I think that it should be delayed until it has a fully operational splitscreen/internet deathmatch.

It would be even better if they added up to ten bots and ground vehicles too.
This sort of thing is what the Gamecubes power was designed for. It should be used!
