er-no talked me into downloading it, and I've got to say that despite my initial qualms about a 227MB download, it was well worth it.
Legend of Mir is basically an RPG, set in a medieval landscape, where you travel from town to town hacking up monsters and other players on route, trying to get them before they get you, levelling up as you go.
The fun part is the other players. I was playing on a 56k modem, and it was a little laggy at times, but it didn't stop me becoming a 'Player Killer' (PK) within a matter of minutes when I found a sword and used it on an unsuspecting noobie. He'll be ok, he just lost a few items and started again from the last town he was in.
But it WAS kinda fun. Maybe I'm getting bloodthirsty in my old age, but now I'm having more and more battles with other online players and hardly touching the monsters. On the plus side it's a quick way to level up. On the downside it doesn't exactly get you a lot of friends.
You can even join a group of however many players you wish (SR Forums Guild, anyone?). That way when you kill monsters together, it doesn't matter which one of you deals the finishing blow, you all share the experience points. The great thing about groups is that you can go to war bigtime, not just against other players but against other groups and guilds too, all in realtime isometric view 3D.
Fun stuff.
Download is at:

All the information you require to play the game, including downloadable beginners guide and manual, is there.
> But you should see the size of my staff...
If you tell me it's got a glowing red orb on the end, I'm never speaking to you again...

How to get the horney thingy is in the manual, there's some kind of beastie that appears in a specific level of a specific dungeon four times a day, and you have to kill it to get the horney thingy.
All the important areas are marked out by (x,y) coordinates in the manual, along with maps.
As for the beastie, I'm still only level 12, I reckon I'll have to be a lot higher to get the horney thingy from it.
But you should see the size of my staff...
> but the size of the thing put me off :-(
*chuckles*
I can at least test my faster connection and try it at home on the Saturday, but you guys have a big head start. Wish I'd downloaded it when you first said FM, but the size of the thing put me off :-(
Still, I'll be on their soon!
Red elf has died.
Do not shoot food.
I suspect there may be an SR guild thingy starting soon as a lot of us seem to be getting into the game...

In all honesty, it's probably true. I'm a big softy really.
No, you can

They say people pick the character in games most opposite to their real life persona.
:-)
Is anybody here part of any Guilds?
