The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
Their are a number of people on this forum who seem intent on dragging the chat down to their level.
This causes me concern over the validity of the election and NO ANNOUNCEMENT will be made until I have had time to study the votes carefully. I'll be particularly careful to count the true valid votes only.
For future elections I will consider the matter in advance and tighten the rules accordingly.
I may also consider labelling the trouble-makers, so that instead of being Newbies or Regulars they may be Oranges or something instead. This would enable us to restrict their presence in some forums. I am only considering this at present, so your views are welcome.
In the mean time please don't count on the vote until it is announced.

I agree with ssxpro.

What do you think? I know people like to know the progress of all the votes and who is winning etc, but it will leave us all in suspense... and make the voting as fair as possible.

Its rare for me to make a serious comment these days, but this topic made me do it :-)
This may have already been suggested, but why not have a voting topic that is started at midnight at the start of the election, and allows only one post from each eligible voter.
e.g.
You may only post once. It must be a vote.
All other posts will be deleted on sight, or taken in for questioning.
The election topic already had several hundred messages before the start which makes it look complex, and on top of that you have posts counting the votes so far, posts commenting on people`s votes etc... its havoc.

We done this to have some fun when the forums are dead at night. notice we never done it during the day. we had no bad intentions. sorry it came out the wrong way though.
