Why am I trying it out anyway?

The PS2 forum is a very interesting place to be, but it can also be a little quiet. I though perhaps if we had a topic with several hundred replies lurking at the top, things would look more popular.

Feel free to use the topic to talk about anything. Either the latest PS2 game, latest ideas for including some female star in a game etc... or even just the usual chat that happens all over.

As I expect this to fail, I`ve decided to spend a little while pushing up the replies. No spamming, just lots of nonsense :-)

Any help would be great, it`d be boring to have a whole topic with replies from only me.

If is sub £200 (unlikely I feel), then no question I will bag one when they come out.

Peter Moore (Xbox dude) recently gave an interview and stated it won't be the 479 euro (£299 for us) price point like last time... in fact, from past experience they know £299 is a bad starting point. Rumours that it will most likely be £279, £249 or even sub £200.

I know what you mean, I was most agrieved to pay £300 for a launch PS2 and see it drop £100 six months later. However the timing will be everything if the Xbox 360 comes out early next year and PS3 around Xmas time I might not be able to wait until 2007.

I imagine the early to mid prices for the new consoles and associated games will be extortionate when they are released not to mention the bugs early models always seem to have.

I think im gonna wait for a while before I invest into the PS3.

If the 360 is out for this Xmas might be tempted, but as it looks unlikely I will wait for a PS3 next Xmas.

A lot will depend on the timing as I said, the price and games due for release at launch and the first 6 months after.

I second Neo's thought, no PS3 longest thread, will have to start a fund to save up for one next year though :)
