Ok, i installed the PSU and downloaded a stak of new drivers (VIA4in1, Detonator 3 etc). But the PC is still really slow. Is this because the lack of power from my old 240W PSU did some damage to my CPU ?

Many things can be the problem here, as HalT says.

PS. Forget the PSU as the issue, it doesn't cause slowdowns, just stability problems if it's not strong enough.

Press Ctrl Alt Delete and exit ALL the programs except for Explorer and systray (or any other programs your using) it makes games run that little bit faster!

Tweak the BIOS but be careful. Could leave the system unstable.

Just another thought, Is DMA ticked in the device manager for the hard drive.
Also close down all background programmes in windows when you do the benchmark. Including screensavers, realplayer, antivirus etc.

i tried benchkmark and i just got 1885, thanks alot for the helpthough, u r a software hero and you know your stuff.

But how can i get this a bit higher because i know it should be right?

I am downloading the bug fixer now,
will try benchmark again
