According to the region X boffs this is because my TV is not NTSC compatible.....any of you good peeps out there no if there's a way round this apart from buying another TV?

This means that it is not an RGB Scart cable, and this is why you cannot play NTSC DVDs, in colour. The picture should be normal just in black and white. If the TV didn't support NTSC the picture would scroll down the screen really fast.

No you misunderstand.
I can play region 2 DVD's using Region X perfectly OK...just not Region 1's.......looks like its my TV unless you have other idea's?
