My beloved xbox passed away last night, well the cd-rom did any way.
Wont recgonize any games or films atall, just says no disk.
It's off to my mates tonight to try and be rapaired, but he said i was either looking at £70 for a new cd-rom, or i may have to buy a new one.
When i spent like £150 on the xbox i expected it to last alot longer then 14 months.
Any of you had any problems with the xbox?
(This is the first problem i have ever had with it)

back-ups are only allowed for archival purposes.

I think if you own 2 consoles and only one game, and you want to play link up, you should be able to copy it if you want. You're not harming the games market there.
You're allowed back-ups, just as long as you don't sell them and only use them for copies of games you own
I'm sure it was once proven on here that 'backup copies' are actually illegal - due to the way in which they are used.
I own all the original games at my nans house, these are just backup coppys i am using incase the originals get damaged :P
