Sony have announced they're stepping up the Cell chip production to start in EARLY 2005, as opposed to middle or late 2005.

Worldwide production of the Cell chip is estimated to be at 15,000 units a month. Which would mean that even if every Cell chip is put into a PS3, by the end of 2006 they'd still only be able to manufacture 360,000 of them.

There are 5 million PS2 owners in the UK, over 60 million PS2 owners worldwide. If you want a PS3? Join the queue.

Well if that Avalon thing is like a next gen GT3 then that's a pile of preorders Sony can count on.

Hmmm, as far as I know, its NEVER a good idea to buy a console at its release, they're always extortionately priced and then sharply drop soon afterwards.

Have software companys started making games for it yet?

I might not buy the PS3 until 2007 unless its under £300.

The Xbox pad (both) are average, not bad. And what's the point of preordering if there are no announced launch games yet?

They haven't even announced a precise release date yet.

Yep, one definite game is called (at the moment) Avalon and is a racing game.

If they FINALLY come up with some decent (or at least alternative) controllers then I'll get one.

If they don't then the games might be good, but if they're unplayable due to laughably outdated controllers then they can get stuffed.
