Just lost my 40+ hour Zelda save, Resident Evil save after completing it on all difficulties, Wave Race save and 10+ hour Eternal Darkness save all because of the bast*rd game known as Burnout 2. I can't believe this has happened, there is no way I am going back through Zelda or Eternal Darkness so I might as well lob them on Ebay in a minute. I can not believe this has happened, absolutely bollo*ks. All because some pasty faced programmer left a glitch in the game.

If it was Burnout messing around, then it's not the memory cards fault as it seems the game would wipe ANY storage medium if that's what happened.

Personally, I've got 2 memory cards, and I back up my most important games on the second one, just incase (who needs glitches when you've got younger brothers! :-D).

Fair enough. I've got over 40 games for my Cube but I've hardly played on it.

The thing is I haven't had any problems with either card since getting my Cube and have had lots of saves on both cards. Its a problem that is not going to go away sadly.

Yeah, it's a pain.

I had it with a few N64 games back in the day.
WWF No Mercy... stupid THQ!

You won't want to come back to Zelda or ED for a while, but after a month you'll be able to breeze through the both of them with no hassle at all.

I've heard of problems with Burnout 2 which is why I use a separate memory card for all "dodgy" games.

It's very disheartening to lose all that data - damn the fools for not having a built in hard drive!

But if Burnout 2 was wiping the saving medium, then the hardrive would have been wiped out the same way... even worse! :-S

I'm sure there's something in the Data Protection Act that should make these sorts of glitches illegal.

Maybe I shouldn't buy Burnout 2 then...

Is the screw-up on GC only?

Erm nope, the data protection act is about how information is shared and recorded.

Anyway I still think memory cards are best. My mates Xbox hard drive died on him - well it won't let him load or save to it - last weekend so he has to get a new console.
