I've only recently started playing this after getting it for Chistmas (exams and no memory card space) and it's damn good. But why have they taken out certain elements? There used to be a trick book to run through, and there used to be different types of board you could get. Alpine for speed, freestyle for tricks, or the combination for a bit of both. Now you can't even buy new boards, only new graphics for the same board.

And I know this game will give me arthritis in later life.

I doubt it - most of the possible extra characters seem to be only cheat characters. Seeiah, Eddie, Marty, Brodi, Luther etc etc. Bit of a waste.

Hah ... some of the gates challenges have had me ranting and spitting acid at the TV a couple of times and they were on the easy levels.

Does anyone know what happens if you max out all the available characters stats, do you get any extra characters? I've maxed out about 3 people now and the rest are fairly well built up.

The trick boosts do look like snowflakes, but if you take the time to look at one that you know is a trick boost you'll see the difference. It's like a white ball with two blue things whizzing round it, or something.

In other news, I've done nearly all the challenges with Mac, and in the process got gold medals on at least two of the peaks from collectibles. Actually, it might only be one peak. But anyway, there are only a few challenges left to do, and they're really hard. Like some on Gravitude, I think it is. "Get 300,000" is a joke. And I can't do the gates one either. Ho hum.

Trick boosts are bigger than snowflakes, and are usually situated on a big jump or ramp, there's one on Snow Jam, just after the massive jump where the rocks fall down, just as you hit the next jump it's sat in the middle. When you go through them your trails go all white and you can pull faster spins.

noooo

Trick boosts make you spin faster, when you get a snowflake a number comes up on the left of the screen saying how many you have collected in that area.

I have got quite a lot of collectibles, but don't know what they are. At first I thought they were the trick boosts, but then I realised they weren't. What simbols are they?
