Ah, I love the wallmonster.
It's a monster ... in a wall! 100% genius.

I remember dying badly at the hands of that big 2-headed dragon thing you fight someplace. It's just after you come to a health-retoring spring ...

Anywho - which company did people support in the Calm Lands? Does it even make a difference?

That wallmonster was a complete slap in the face from Square. The first time I played through FFVII, I think I had to start again at that point, from the beginning. I just wasn't trained up enough. I probably didn't really realise at the time that trying to do as few battles as possible, or at least not making the most of travelling, would have consequences. It was my first RPG.

The only one I had trouble with on VII was the 'Wallmonster' thing in the Temple Of The Ancients on my first play through ... that was due to not being decently powered up though. Emerald proved to be an absolute pain, although I found him alright and without KOTR. With good old Phoenix on Final Attack, all I did was pelt him with many Demi-All until I'd whapped most of his HP away. Then polished him off with some nice Limit Breaks.

I found FFVII's set of bosses hard, but I'm not sure if I'm just looking back to when I was trying without KOTR.

Is FFX-2 worth getting?

Or is it simply an opportunity to show some skin?

It seems that Square's objective is to make the obvious endings as easy to achieve as possible to take into account that, say, someone like my nieces might be playing the game ... BUT then provides this Bevelle dungeon area which people have been talking about for the more hardcore who want a real challenge. Mind you, twas always the way with Final Fantasy games, the real challenge was never the final boss, but usually the Weapons and secret area monsters. In fact, the ONLY boss I've ever had trouble with was that booger at the end of FFIX. I ended up with a wiped out squad with a bezerked Zidane with auto haste and auto regen on and somehow managed to win the fight!

I dunno about the samurai one, but to get the lady luck dressphere you have to beat Shinra at Sphere break. If you beat him in the tournament final in Luca you win it then, but if he beats you you can win it back off him from Basement A under Luca stadium.

I completed FFX2 last night. Twice!! I got the rubbishy ending the first time so I went thru the last bosses again and remembered to press X as Yuna wanders thru the flowers at the end so the fayth came.

Incidentally, the last bosses are SO INCREDIBALY EASY!!!!!!!!!

Just out of interest, how do you get the Samurai and Lady Luck dressspheres?

I had Samurai in my first play, but that file is..er..corrupted.

even if you have a guide...it's good to go to gamefaqs and get one of the guides telling you the completion percentages as well because the guide doesn't always make it explicitly clear.

i had to restart because i didn't talk to clasko BEFORE the foggy fiend mission in chapter 1...so missed out on a small percentage

that's always been the case with most FF games...
FF7...how are you meant to know how to get a gold chocobo?
FF8...how are you meant to get many of those summons like eden? and how would you know where to the island with loadsa high level monsters are.
