I prefer Fifa 2004, which is probably the opposite answer of what many people will reply with.

All official kit designs (minus sponsors), and official team flags. And also all player names, if you really need to change them all.
Some of the kit creations are amazing, might I add. Especially the teams that use Nike and Adidas, like Spain, France, Germany, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, etc. There are some good club ones as well: the Arsenal, Inter Milan, Man United, Real Madrid and Valencia ones are all impressive, from memory.

That's a good idea.
Konami and EA should get together.
EA's presentation/licensing from FIFA and the PES game engine would make THE killer football game.
It's a no-brainer.
Which is why it will never happen.
Recordable replays - I love these on PES3.
Create-a-Player - PES3 has a great Create-a-Player mode, Fifa got rid of it when they done 2003.
PES3 = 10x better than Fifa 2004

Oh my God.
I actually played the Xbox version of Fifa 2004 today.
I didn't know the gap was this big.
It is so poor, you can barely string 2 passes together, and even when you do you can't do anything with it.
The shots are ridiculous, you can't judge where the keeper is and it seems to swing in from nowhere (Like older versions of the game)
Multiplayer was so boring, my brother is apparantly quite good at the game, I never played it yet managed to have a horrible midfield battle.
And even when we did score it didn't seem right. The net seemingly has a delayed reaction. The stadiums seem really tiny and the same can be said for the players.
No radar (Well, to begin with, atleast)
A Diabolical free kick system which doesn't really rely on skill apart from a bar bit.
The graphics! when you look at the numbers on shirts or the players themselves it doesn't seem right.
Henry wasn't distinguishable from Keown ability wise.
The delay, you can tell if you're going to lose the ball 1-2 seconds before it happens.
Where's the kitmakers logo? PES3 patched has that.
Where's the rain?
Why McCoist?
Why?
Oh, pluspoint, the music when we paused the game (Often)
Off the balltm ITS TRADEMARKEDUDUDUD!!1111111 dunt steel it pes LOL!!!11133eightyfree Is poo, you barely have enough time to use it.
Crikey!
I mean what would be better: having all the official names

> has no names but is great fun to play? Decide for yourself.
a game that is fun to play that you can edit yourself the names of the real players and teams on. Of course for most people nowadays that's too much work
